I am wondering how you addressed your wedding invitations envelopes. Not the wording, but how you got the names and addresses on there. Did you hire someone to write on them , DIY, etc. Thanks!

Professional calligraphy wasn''t in my budget, and I''ve had it drilled into my head so many times that it really is preferable to have the addresses hand written, so I did the next best thing - I traced. I found a (free) font online that I liked, printed up the addresses, cut them to fit inside the envelope, bought a light box from Michael''s, and traced. It''s certainly not as perfect as a professional calligrapher, but it was cheaper, and still looks nicer than my regular handwriting (which is neat, but not pretty).

I hand addressed all of the STD envelopes and it drove me nuts, so I decided I definitely wasn''t going to do it for the invitations. I found a really cool font online that I''m obsessed with and just printed on the envelopes from my home computer. I think they look fantastic! And I''ve gotten a lot of compliments on the font. It''s called JB Courbes in case anyone else wants to look it up. It''s a fun font, but still somewhat formal I think. Love it!

My wedding isn''t particularly formal, so I just handwrote the addresses :) Didn''t take me very long at all, just printed everything nice and neat.

That is what I am thinking I will do. Was it hard to set the printer up to print on envelopes?

I hand did all the STD envelopes.
We are having Calligraphy done for Bridal Party, all Family invites, and parents friends. I will be handwriting all the others, probably about 50 more.

Not at all! I measured the dimensions of the envelope, then created a new word document that was the same size as the envelope and printed a few tests and it worked great! I was really pleased with how they turned out, and it didn''t take me forever, like I knew hand addressing them would.

I had the addresses printed directly on the envelope in a font that matched the wedding invitations.

I did the same, but on labels rather than directly on the envelope.

I purchased a calligraphy pen and just hand wrote them with it. It didn''t look professional, but the wide tipped pen did dress up my handwritting a bit

And I don''t think it took that long to do, just about a or so minute per invite.

Printing directly on the envelope seems like a good idea too, especially if your printer is set up to accept smaller sizes of paper.

My uncle is a calligrapher so he did them for us.

I am planning to do the same on my laser printer.

I did my own invitations and I have horrible handwriting, so I just printed them on my home printer. I created the template in Word and added a little flourish that matched my invitations. They came out really nice!

For me having the invitations printed or calligraphy was just not financially feasible.

I had wrote in a script on my invitations. I used a nice black gel roller ball pen and traced them lightly in pencil first. Then again, I only had to do 20 so my task wasn''t huge.

I hand-addressed my Save-the-Dates (so hard to call them STD''s!) and my invitations myself. I get tons of compliments on my handwriting all the time, so I figured it would be a nice, personal way to express to my guests how much I wanted them there with us. I used ultra-fine-tip art pens with archival ink, and I really like how they turned out.
