I am deliberating about bands to go with my new solitaire set in the tiffany 6-prong reproduction setting. I probably will get a shared prong band, either half or full eternity. Figuring out what size stones will have to wait until I can try some on with the other ring. But I also love the look of an engraved channel set band with milgrain, and I wanted to ask if you think these need to go with a similar e-ring, or can it go with a polished band e-ring?

Here is an example of what I am talking about, except I would get all diamonds (even though I do love sapphires).

And it is to go with this

Why not? You have to get what you like...anything goes with a simple, stunning solitaire!

I think you could do it. For me, I think the big thing would be that they are the same height, so that the e-ring band isn''t lower or higher than the w band...

All the antique sets on this site are gorgeous, but we always comment on how sad it is to cover up the ering with a band. So, I think getting your wband only with the milgraining, would be great!
Try and see if you can try one on somewhere to see if you like the style on you!

I can see the likelihood of ending up with more than one "anniversary ring"! I guess that is one good thing about a solitaire! I hope I can find some to try on. If not, I''ll have to order three or four from SP/Facets and then return the ones I do not like as well. Dimend Scassi said they could send me some in-stock ones to try as well. They do have one that has engraving and bead-set diamonds which I''d like to see with a little larger diamonds than the one they picture on the site. Their diamond bands use all ideal cut stones, F, VS, which is nice, but they run a little higher for that reason.

Is that the Facets band? Its beautiful. I love the engraving on the sides of the band. Its really classic. :)
Yes, it is from Facets. I had previously seen their all diamond band with milgrain, but I just discovered these with the engraving today. If I could have three or four to wear depending on my mood, I''d just get this one with sapphires!

I think the great thing about your solitaire setting (beautiful, by the way) is the versatility you will have in pairing it with any wedding band. If you can swing it, why not get a few, either now or over the years, and alternate depending on your mood? The other(s) can alway go on the RH, I love the stacked look I''ve been seeing a lot lately.

You know Gail, I think you are right. I was having terrible second thoughts about maybe I should have gone with a Tacori-style setting or a round with pear sides, both of which I really love. But with this solitaire setting, I really do have the option of having multiple anniversary rings to wear with it, since I will not be wearing my original wedding band anyway because it is YG. I won''t be totally stuck with the same look if I find something new and wonderful!

That band you''ve shown is just gorgeous! That really is the beauty of going with a simple sophisticated solitaire, you can have all kinds of different bands and change the look completely. If you went with a Tacori or other design with a lot of detailing you really can''t mix it up much. Have fun shopping for bands and don''t forget to share pictures of all the ones you look at!!!

Thanks, Sundial! I thought that ring was really pretty, but you wonder if other people are out there thinking, ugh, what is she thinking???! Of course, it is always necessary to try things on, but you can''t complain about an excellent return policy like SP/Facets has.

SP also has a plain sapphire and diamond channel set from Tiffany''s which would be the only way I''d pay for a Tiffany ring, but it is a size 5 and I really need 5 1/4 to 5 1/2. It''s a shame because it looks new.

I told my husband that we''d need to get one band as soon as possible after the solitaire comes (don''t want to appear engaged!), and then he can give me the other on our actual anniversary day in December! Haha! How''s that?!

I think an antique style wedding band would give you the best of both worlds. I *personally* do not like RBs channel set (I HATE the spaces) but if you love it, go for it. OR maybe you should hold off til May 20th when PV and I can help you in person!

Tacori, I''m not wild about the spaces either. Dimend Scassi has a bead set band with milgrain but I''d have to see it with various size diamonds to know whether I''d like it. I definitely need to try some on. I''d love to have you and PV give me opinions! I''ll bet Diamonds Direct has a million bands! I''ll try to come if y''all can tolerate shopping with someone like your mother! But I wouldn''t order anything before I get the ring and try on some bands with it.

I actually have a channel set eternity band and while I wasn''t in love with it in the beginning I really love it now. For my busy lifestyle with my kids it''s perfect. My doesn''t have miligrain but I wear it with my solataire and it looks great. I get a lot of compliments that my pair is very classic and elegant. I don''t even notice the spaces in the channel band anymore...it bugged me at first but I''ve gotten over it LOL. Good luck on your search.

That''s great to hear, Small! I am going to be completely open-minded and try on all styles with rounds. I do love the picture on Tiffany''s site with the solitaire and channel set band. I agree that it would just take getting used to. I''ll have to try on plenty just to make sure what I like best! Do you know what what ct. wt. yours is? I''d like to see a better picture of yours. Is there a thread with your rings?

Mine is a 1ct total weight. There is a thread but I'm not sure the picture is any better...I'm not the best at picture taking LOL.

Ok...there is a better picture on there of the ring with band. I actually need to change my avatar I'm just too lazy LOL. Hope this helps. I was really open minded about it too. While I love the shared prongs and etc, I just really felt that I would be more secure with my lifestyle in a channel set band. I love the look of eternity bands with solataires though so whatever you choose is going to look fabulous! Good luck on your search!

Small, I loved your diamond story! It sounds like you picked a great diamond, and Wink is so nice to work with! And your band looks beautiful with your solitaire, too! Thanks for the extra pictures!

Janis I love shopping with my mom!
