I am so torn as to how I want to wear my hair for the wedding! I''ve got a bunch of questions I''d love some opinions on, so please be blunt and help!

First, I''m in love with the really romantic, curly, half-up, half-down hairstyle. My hair is thick, long, and hold curl well. However, it is prone to frizz, especially when I get hot, and I''m getting married in July. Do you think it would be totally disasterous to even try this style? The style I''m talking about will be the first couple of pics I post.

Second, if I do go with this style, I was originally planning on putting a beaded/crystal comb at the top of my head and attach the veil there (that is definitely were the veil looks best on me), but do you think using hair jewels would look better than the comb? Or should I use jewels and the comb, or would that be overkill? My hair is kind of a plain, dark brown, but I really wanted to wear the comb.

Third, if I don''t do the half up/half down, I will do the hair all up with the curls kind of loose. However, I like the front to be more soft than slick, like the pics of Kate Beckinsale. Do you think this will be impossible for the stylist to do?

Finally, are these styles too "outdoor garden wedding" for my formal church wedding?

Oh, and I am having a trial done, and I was thinking of having her try the half up/half down to see if my hair will frizz or not, but I REALLY can''t afford 2 trials, and I''d be worried if I did the trial with the half do, and then changed it to an all up do on teh day of the wedding without practicing.

Another half do that I like.

One more half up do, they all seem to be wearing flowers, which is why I worry the comb wouldn''t look right, but I don''t want to wear flowers since I think that would be too casual for the church...

Here''s the updo I love

I love the updo. As for the half up half downs I like the first one a bit more. I think it would look beautiful with a comb. A barrette as well.

hmmmmm....all very pretty hairstyles. i LOVE the updo on Kate Beckinsale, but i also like the half up-dos....i definitely like #1 and #2 more than #3, but all are lovely. I think the comb would look fine, as long as it was back near where the curls start, almost like a little tiara. I have hair like yours, and i think you could really pull off that romantic look!

I agree with Sarah and violet. I LOVE the updo, but love the 1st and 2nd half up. My daughter is going for the half up as well. This is the style she is shooting for, but she doesn''t have your naturally romantic hair and will be using extensions.

Oh well, I can''t upload it...and it won''t let me rename it. dang it....

There we go....

Thanks Sarah, Violet and Miracle! Miracle, that half do your daughter is getting looks really pretty too! Is she having a trial? For some reason, I''m really paranoid that the stylist is going to have a hard time getting the front to look right, but I really don''t want just a smooth, pulled back look.

Are either of these 2 styles too "gardeny" for a formal wedding, or do you think I could wear either of them?

Do you think the Kate Beckinsale do would be too hard for a stylist? (hmm...maybe I should hunt down Italiahaircolor!)

You know, Italia hasn''t posted in a long while...3.4.08 was her last post. Hmmm...

I noticed she was missing too...wonder where she''s been!

miraclesrule, I love that picture! gorgeous.

Sabine, the very first pic you posted was the one I took to my wedding stylist! I''ll post some pics of how my hair ended up looking. I got married last July, on an extremely hot and humid day-at least until the thunderstorm hit and we got a bit damp. Even then, with all the hairspray and pins that were in it, the style held up fairly well. So I wouldn''t have any qualms about recommending it since our hair sounds pretty similar. Mine actually doesn''t even hold a curl that well, but it did that day!

I didn''t wear a veil, and our wedding was informal, in a B&B''s parlor. But I think with a comb and veil that style would be beautiful for your wedding.

, I was a little unhappy about that).

Selkie, my do was very similar to yours, but some of the curls were pulled up off the base of my neck and pinned up. Sabine, that might be a good compromise for you. My wedding day was on Jun 16 and it was a lovely 95 degrees - outdoor ceremony. It would have been a complete disaster if I would have worn my hair down. I wore my hair down for our church blessing in July, and we were in a/c the entire time - absolutely no issues whatsoever.

Are you wearing a veil? I never realized how hot a veil can be, either - I love the romantic look and you can definitely do it but still keep your hair off of the back of your neck. I had planned on wearing my veil all night, but I got sooo hot in the first 5 mins of dancing, that I scrambled off to the ladies room and not only took out the veil but pinned my hair up even more.

Ooooh! I found a pic -

Oh, here''s another with the veil - you''ll have to excuse my "bridezilla" impression ;)

Dang Selkie, in my next life, I wanna have your hair!!

Sabine: I hear ya on the trial thing. The last wedding I attended was a black tie and I got my hair done at like...11 a.m. and the wedding was 6 p.m.. Either way, it didn''t matter because I had to keep taking it out and helping the stylist out because she was making it too...I dunno...not too slick, but too messy and not the way I wanted it. I felt like I should be paying myself

(Okay, I really wanted to be a cosmetologist, but motherhood got in the way. That didn''t stop me from going through about 10 "Chrissy doll''s when I was growing up) Okay I know most of your are wayyyyyy too young to know what a "Chrissy doll" is, but her hair grew!

I kept cutting it until there was nothing left and my Dad would have to buy me a new one.

To answer your question, I hope she has a trial, because I don''t want to have to fix it. Although, trust me...I will.

Wow! Selkie and Elmorton, your hair is gorgeous!!! If mine can look anywhere close to that I will be happy! I think it''s a GREAT idea to pin up some of the hair in the back to keep it up off the neck while still having the down look! I will totally be trying that!

Thanks! To be honest, I completely neglect it most of the time, so it was fun to have them make it all purdy for the wedding.

From the pictures you''ve posted in other threads, I think your hair will look beautiful in this type of style.
