Hi everyone,
I have been totally MIA due to new house & wedding craziness.....I cannot believe that I am only 9 days away!
We are just working on final details like the seating chart & DJ song "must haves".....that''s where my fellow PSers come in!
I want to email the DJ a list of slow songs to play throughout the evening & I am having touble coming up with my favorite romantic songs! Here''s what I have so far:
Faithfully - Journey
At Last - Etta James
Somewhere over the Rainbow - Isreal K (idontknowhowtospellthislonglasname)
Lucky - Jason Mraz & Colbie Caillat

Please leave me your suggestions!
Thank you

What era/music style do you like?
Here are some of the "typicals"

Unchained Melody -
Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton
You''re the Inspiration -- Chicago
When I Fall in Love -- Nat King Cole
Live for Loving You -- Gloria Estefan
In Your Eyes -- Peter Gabriel
Rod Stewart-- Have I Told You Lately?
U2-- All I Want is You
Shania Twain-- From This Moment On
Have I Told You Lately that I Love You - Van Morrison or other version

What A Wonderful World- Louis Armstrong
Moonlight Serenade- Glenn Miller (there''s also a Frank Sinatra version)

a list of ''wedding'' songs

These might not all qualify as "slow," but here are some of my personal favorites:

"It Had to Be You" -- Harry Connick, Jr. (this might be our first dance song!)
"Better Together" -- Jack Johnson
"Dream a Little Dream of Me" -- I like the duet by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
"Dancing Cheek to Cheek" -- also love the duet by Ella and Louis
"Our Love Is Here to Stay" -- Harry Connick, Jr.
"La Vie en Rose" -- Edith Piaf
"Only Have Eyes for You" -- Billie Holliday
"Ballad for My One True Love" -- Mason Jennings (if you have not heard this, please listen to it!)
"Can''t Help Falling in Love" -- Michael Buble

Funny story: I was at a wedding recently where the DJ played Kanye West''s "Golddigger." It made things awkward, to put it mildly, especially since the groom was a successful lawyer and the bride did not have a job. Don''t forget to put that on your "do not play" list

beautiful picks

LOL Kittybean! We definitely have a "Do not play list"...and we also said to feel free to not play any terrible requests from guests....and we limited the amount of "group" dances we will allow (lol, I don''t want the chicken dance, the macarena, the hustle, etc allllll to be played!)

Thank you all for the suggestions so far! I have a few more to add to our list:
"Blackbird" - Beatles
"Feels like home" - Chantal Kreviazuk
"Finally Forever" - Chris Cornell
"By your side" - Sade

Does that help with getting a feel for our taste in music? Keep the suggestions coming!

i suppose if you''re doing Blackbird you won''t be doing Something by the Beatles? i''m a little sad i forgot about Something, but i suppose better late than never

I can''t forget Lovely Tonight and Today by Joshua Radin.. they are both lovely.

Hmmm...I personally love The Luckiest by Ben Folds and Halo by Beyonce.

I am not a bride to be but I am in love with the song "Memories are made of this" by Dean Martin.
