Wedding Invitation

How far out from the wedding do you send out wedding invitations? Our wedding is Jan 1, 2011

I am not to sure what the appropriate time frame is but we were married on March 12 and i got my invites out in the first week of January. You may wish to get yours out earlier still to have the RSVP date well before the Christmas rush and Holiday season.

Ditto getting them out a bit earlier than 'normal' to avoid the holiday rush!


We sent STDs about 8mo in advance, and invitations went out 8 weeks before the wedding (but we're having several international guests, so the STDs were the really important part - airfare, etc. couldn't really have been booked with 6-8wks notice anyway)

I think if you're having mostly local folks anywhere from 4-8wks would be fine..
