wedding planning in Richmond, VA

Hi Everyone,

Am wondering if anyone has experience getting married or planning a wedding in Richmond? I would love to benefit from the experience and wisdom of others before me

Please reply here or PM me--right now I am looking for a facility in Carytown/Downtown/Shockoe that will accomodate ~150 for the ceremony and reception. I am beginning to feel like that is a tall order! I am in NoVA right now so I am doing a slight long-distance thing here.

Also if anyone has feedback on specific locations, good or bad, I would really love to hear it.

if you dont get any responses here, try your local message board on theknot.com. I found most of my vendors on mine and gots TONS of ideas and local planning advice.

First off congratulations! I wish i could be more of help, but the closest suggestions I can give you are in Fredericksburg and the only place Ive ever been to in Shockoe Bottom is Have a Nice Day (doesnt exactly scream bridal to me!

). I think PunchnPie gave you a great suggestion. Carytown is so neat! Hopefully some others will chime in!

ETA: I did a quick google search and found this page: Richmond Weddings and i also thought about Maymont... would lovely for a garden wedding.
