I just thought I''d tell everyone that this Saturday my fiancee and I will be celebrating 6 years of dating...only 2 weeks before our wedding....so we decided that the best gift we could give each other would be a nice meal and time together and we are not going to talk ANYTHING about school or the wedding because it seems that is all we have talked about since we have got engaged. Today after our dance lessons (our bridal party got us 2 private dance lesson which we learned swing dancing and waltz dancing for the reception) she stated that she wanted to go on a date and not talk about it and we figured this would be the perfect time just to relax and be together. Are you ladies planning to do anything like this?

I can''t answer your question but I think it''s great that the two of you are putting wedding stuff on hold for a nice evening out on a date. I also love reading your posts -- it''s nice to see guys on here, talking about their experiences, etc. It''s good to get a guy''s perspective.

You guys are really sweet. Happy anniversary (your last before your MARRIED!

) and have fun! I can''t wait to hear about your wedding.

That is very sweet and much needed, I''m sure. Fiance and I are doing something similar. We are getting married on July 28th and we set aside a day in June to relax and do something non-wedding. We have tickets to see John Mayer and Ben Folds in concert. Very excited. I told fiance that the whole day will be a day of no wedding talk/planning/activities. I''ve even turned down two different friends trying to plan a shower for us on that day. Nope, just my baby and me!

I think that''s a great idea, Firstbase! We didn''t do that with our wedding, but we have done that with DH''s discharge. We have days where we don''t mention the word navy, discharge, or medical, lol! It really does help to take a break from things in your life that sometimes feel like you can''t get on top of. Gives you some time to regroup. Congrats on 6 years of dating!

June 23, Houston. I''m pretty sure it is sold out. Not sure where you both live, but if interested, I''m sure you can find tickets online. It will be fun! Fiance and I like John Mayer, but absolutely love Ben Folds. In fact, our song is "The Luckiest". We can''t wait!!!

We''re pretty close to Chicago...and if they did come here it would probably be to the House of Blues and a show like that would be OUTRAGEOUS since it''s a smaller venue. I hope you enjoy the show. They both are AMAZING musicians...I play guitar and dream that someday I''ll be half as good as John Mayer haha
