So ladies, I''ve been on the hunt for wedding shoes and it has not been easy. For one, I wear a 5.5 and I swear my feet are shrinking. Sometimes I wish my feet were a solid size 7 because then I''d never have trouble finding gorgeous shoes!!! Secondly, I''m looking for a minimum 3.5" heel. I want to keep as much length on my dress as possible to make re-selling easier (if that''s what I decide to do).

I''ve been looking for yellow wedges but the selection hasn''t been wonderful. I went into a store the other day and found these babies. They''re theory, size 5.5 and they fit perfectly. On a scale of 1-10, I''d give them a 7 for comfort. They were also on sale and they''re my FI''s favourite colour...what do you think? Are they wedding worthy???

Those are cute! However, I don''t think they''re "wedding worthy," especially if it''s a formal wedding. To me, they look a bit too casual. The wood colored parts turn me off from viewing these as wedding shoes.

Thanks brooklyngirl. My mom said the same...she didn''t like the wooden heels either.

Just a bit of background. I''m wearing the Melissa Sweet Fern. We''re getting married May 29, 2010. We''re looking to do an outdoor ceremony and the reception is a golf course surrounded by a conservation area (protected land, walking trails, etc.). My ''theme'' or the atmosphere I want to create at our wedding is country chic.

Does that change your opinion?

I agree with brooklyngirl that they''re cute but don''t scream "wedding" to me. However, since you''re going to be outside at a conservation area, they might be perfect because they''re sturdy and the heels won''t sink into the ground. If you''ll wear them again for other things, they could definitely work. But you still have lots of time, so if you don''t LOVE them, don''t be afraid to keep looking!

your wedding sounds ab-fab, but to me they screem bridesmaid, not BRIDAL. Maybe I''d have to see w/ the dress.

Good luck!

I have to agree, while I love the shoes in general I don''t love them for wedding shoes. Even taking into account the location of your wedding I think they are too casual.
I''d keep em to wear for other occasions though!

I *heart* the fern - it''s one gorgeous dress!

Since you have a whole year to go before the wedding, I would keep looking. Since it''s summer now, it''s the perfect time to look for wedding shoes. I''m sure you''ll find a pair that you''ll LOVE!

With that said, I wouldn''t necessarily return these if you like them

Worst case scenario you get an extra pair of shoes.

If you love them, you love them. That''s my philosophy with all shoes.

Still no, IMO. The MS Fern (SUCH a pretty dress, btw) to me is very ethereal and feminine, and to me it fits perfectly with the wedding set-up you're describing. These shoes don't -- they're too substantial and heavy for that dress.

If you want the height but are afraid a heel is going to sink into grass/dirt, then I'd suggest a wedge in ivory or gold with thin straps.

Again, just my opinion -- but, go do what you wanna do!

ETA: If you do decide to keep searching, shopstyle.com might be helpful, because they have every heel out there on that site and you can narrow down by size, color, etc.

Hmm, while the shoes are uber cute, they dont seem bridal to me at all. Your dress is so chic and smooth, while the shoes are chunky and blocky. Can you wear them to another wedding event, such as your rehearsal dinner?

Oh, and you totally have cute calves yo!

I''m gonna have to agree that they''re not worthy of the Fern (gorgeous gorgeous!!)
I hear ya on finding 5.5 shoes... I really wanted to buy my SIL a cute pair of boots last christmas, and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get her size (5.5) in ANY store I went to
Have you tried zappos.com? You can plug in your desired heel height and shoe size, and voila! They have an awesome return policy and super fast shipping, too.

Cute shoes, but not what I'd choose to go with the Fern. Sorry.

However, they'd be great for other wedding-related events (shower, rehearsal dinner, etc.)!

And as others have pointed out, you still have lots of time to find shoes.

Here are some in a slightly darker blue:

Good philosophy Freke!

I wouldn''t really put them with your dress either and since you have a year I''d probably keep looking.

Good ones, Doodle!

Nope. Sorry sammy, you know I love you, but those shoes are for summer. I can see you wearing them with some cute white shorts or even a nice summer dress, but not your gorgeous, delicate, and lovely wedding dress.

We''ll find you some shoes.

Ditto. If you want my super-honest opinion I will give it, but otherwise I refrain

especially because everyone has different tastes.

Hey ladies,
Sorry I''m so late coming back to this thread. Thanks to everyone that chimed in...it seems like a general consensus that the shoes are too casual for my dear Fern! They are getting returned today
1.gif
. Also, like most things wedding, if you know you know, so to question whether or not they were the right shoes was probably a sign.

VRBeauty and doodle, thanks for doing some shoe shopping for me! Some of them definitely stood out so I''ll have to go take a closer look.

If anyone else comes across yellow or orange wedges, please think of me!!!

I''m curious as to what your ''super-honest opinion'' is, but I think your post speaks for itself. A simple "not my style" would have been sufficient as well!

Sammy I think you made the right choice in returning them. Although they are very cute, I picture them with an equally as cute sun dress...not with your Fern.

The right shoes will come along...Keep a look out, you never know when you''ll find something that you absoultely love!

Oh no, I didn''t mean in that way - I meant on the "wedding-worthy" front, since that was your question... but I didn''t know if you wanted to hear pros and cons (since often people don''t). Sorry, didn''t mean to cause offense!

Sammy, I''m sure you will find the perfect shoes, this ones were very pretty, but not for a bride.
