PS: I feel funny in the Ladies in Waiting forum. Are you ladies sure you''re OK with a guy in this thread. Maybe this thread could move to the Lifestyle section?? I don''t mean to hijack this, but a lady in waiting, I''m certainly not. No offense.
I can only speak for myself Rod, but I''m not a lady in waiting (either are a lot of the ladies who post here) and I don''t think that it matters to anyone (when it comes to this thread) who participates. We are all here to inspire and be inspired to get healthy and fit, and always welcome any new ideas or tips!

Ditto..Rod this thread just started here a long time ago and many of us post here who are not LIW at all!!! It's just more of a support and conversation thread where we share our ideas and successes etc. I personally think it'd be perfectly appropriate in another forum but we just never really asked for it to move or anything...since it started here I think most just know to look here!

Interesting about the whole eating more smaller meals....I tend to eat a breakfast, a lunch, then a snack in the afternoon which is typically fruit OR a high fiber granola bar, then dinner at night. Maybe I will add another snack like an apple in here or there.

Glad you came over and joined the thread Rod! I didn''t even think about the WWT being in LIW, as you know I am definitely not one - LOL- and as Mara says it just started here some time ago by a LIW and we sort of continued it in this forum. So don''t worry about it my friend! You are just as entitled to be here as anyone and I hope you stick around so we can all help each other, you would be a great addition here!

You got your BF down to 17%?????? THAT''S AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Everyone........

I hope you''ve had a terrific weekend. I spent a lot of time working out this weekend. Saturday is our training day with our trainer. He works us harder than I thought I could possibly work and after 60 straight minutes of intense exercise, I could barely walk to the showers, but it felt so good. Last night, we met friends at the kind of restaurant I would have loved a year ago, but hadn''t been to since Rebuild Rod (by the way, love the title ''Project Lovelify Lorelei'' and "Help Heather get healthy not hefty") came along, I didn''t enjoy the overly salty steak or any of the side dishes. It''s amazing how much one can change one''s diet after decades of decadent eating. So, to make up for the sins of the restaurant, I worked harder at the gym today and had a fantastic workout. I burned up the elliptical for 55 minutes after 1.5 hours of machines and free weights! When I started working out, I did it to live. Now, I think I live to workout. There is a difference.

I''m hoping I can attach something my gym gave me yesterday. They call them success stories and they felt my progress was inspiring enough to make me a little poster with before and after pictures. So now you can see what a putz I am in real life. But it''s me and at 51 years old, I''m pretty proud of what I''ve done. Anyway, I hope you all had a really healthy weekend and you made some progress with your fitness routines.

I tried, but I can''t seem to attach it. It''s a Word file with embedded pictures and I can''t seem to figure out how to resize or even save it as JPEG to manipulate it. I wish I could share it with you and it''s pretty flattering and exciting to have one''s gym think highly enough of my accomplishments on the fitness front.

Anyway, I hope you all had a great weekend.

Rod

Yay! Last night I managed to do an hour of cardio pilates! I am FINALLY mending my horrible vacation-esque ways. I almost forgot how much I love doing pilates.

this weekend was a whole lotta heat!!! and for some reason that makes me want to snack snack snack. fruit was in there too but i also ate some small vanilla cookies from some vending machine pack greg brought home from work (thanks honey!) and yesterday we went to a BBQ so i had spinach dip and steak and hot dog and corn..yum and then ice cream cake for dessert!! today we are contemplating pizza or a steak for the grill outside, but all i can think of is a hot fudge banana split sundae!!!! i haven't had one in years!

on the plus plus note, i had some shorts i bought online at jcrew last year on sale that didn't fit when they arrived, so i threw them in a drawer and said whatever...well i tried them on yesterday randomly while looking for cool summer clothes to wear and they fit perfectly and even got loose after i wore them for a bit..woo hoo. so greg of course is like 'well if you have the banana split you can't fit into the shorts anymore
20.gif
...and i said NO WAY....i'm working out like a fiend so i *can* still have the banana split AND still fit into the shorts baby!!

i worked out at kbox 4 times last week, which is my most so far...woo hoo. i plan to go 4x again this week. it really is making some changes in my body that the other class wasn't.

as for workouts, it's been really hot...but yesterday morning i got up and went to kbox class, it was 94 on my way into class at 8:45am! so i didn't feel guilty at all for the eating yesteray...and we went for a ~1m walk last nite when we got home at like 11pm and it was still 85 out! today we did some housecleaning and lazed around, i am SO planning that banana split but i would also like for us to go out and do our 2m loop after the sun goes down around 9:30pm or so...it'll still be warm but i feel like i need to get out of the house at some point today! hope everyone had a fab weekend and Rod we'd love to see those pictures if you can get the file sizes down or similar? Save them to a JPG format?

congrats fancy on getting back into it!!

I finally got hungry again tonight after being sick, so I went to the grocery store and bought almost ALL good for me food. *I did buy cookie dough, too. But I''m pretty good about only having a teeny bit at a time, and only when I''m craving it. So, it''s not THAT bad.* Anyway, Paul and I decided tomorrow will be the beginning of us acting RIGHT again after eating like crazy people on vacation. Yeah, we''ve been back almost a week, but Monday just sounded like a good time to start being good again.

So now I''m fully stocked with lots of fruit (grapes are waiting for me in the freezer, yummy) and whole wheat bread and turkey and frozen meals for work, the good for you *KINDA* kind, and lots and lots of salad! Ooh, and salsa! I love salsa on salad!

I''m on my way back on track! yay!

First of all, Mara, yay for your shorts fitting! I bet that''s exciting!

Yum! I LOVE frozen grapes. It is my favorite poolside snack for summer!

And you should DEF. have cookie dough on hand b/c research shows that if you crave something, it is better to go ahead and have a small serving of it to satisfy your craving. Otherwise you could end up overeating on other snacks trying to compensate for not getting what you really wanted.
