Rod, what an accomplishment!
LOL i was SO thinking of you when I was buying them fisher...hehee but once I get a craving I have to give in at some point. Or else I just keep thinking about it. But for me it''s funny, I can buy them and put them in the freezer and then just think about them. But chances are I won''t eat them for a while. Esp with the Alexia fries that I LOVE that are a lot healthier. But I figure a serving of tots can''t be a big deal after a workout one nite!!Date: 7/24/2006 7:11:49 PM

What is edamame?
And, the tater tots aren''t TOO TOO bad if you bake them til they''re crispy then pat the grease off them, like a few times. When I make them, I limit myself to baking only a serving. That way, before I get more, I have to go to the whole effort of heating the oven again and all that stuff. Usually it works. Not worth the effort, so I just eat them SLOWLY and savor them. Sorry if I created that craving for you, Mara.
Wow, Jen, I''m impressed. Any secrets you''d care to share with us? I mean, that''s a VERY impressive accomplishment!Date: 7/24/2006 6:43:47 PM

Great job, Rod! And to have your own POSTER, too. So cool!
I have lost over 100 pounds myself, but I got no poster!
Seriously, though, you look good and have done a GREAT thing for your body! I was reading your elliptical regimen and it would all but *kill* me! I like to do 20 minutes, then weights, then 15 more on the elliptical. It does do wonders for ticking off the calories, though. Although I don''t completely trust the calorie counters on the machines. Something about the feel of the back of my shirt being damp makes me feel like I''ve accomplished *so* much!
Again, good job! I''m glad you''ve made such a positive change in your lifestyle. How much younger do you feel now?
I was well over 250 pounds in my teens, and now at 26, I feel SO much better than I remember feeling even in high school. It''s amazing what dropping weight you''ve been lugging around can do for a person.
WOW WOW WOW!!!! Losing over 100 pounds is an amazing accomplishment and you absolutely deserve a BIG POSTER, not a mini poster like I got!!!!!Date: 7/24/2006 6:43:47 PM

I know what you mean, but it''s hard. I weigh myself daily and I know I shouldn''t, but I seem to have to satisfy my curiosity every morning. It''s often disheartening to see that I worked out for 2. 5 hours and ate only a "Healthy Choice" 280 calorie frozen dinner (with a Fuji Apple for dessert) and gained a pound. As long as I continue working out hard, and eating healthy and my clothes fit fine, I shouldn''t worry about the scale, but I do..............Date: 7/25/2006 10:38:39 AM

Paul has done the US Classic 10K in Atlanta every year since something like 1993, and he''s noticed how, over the years, he''s now 29, he''s coming in more and more toward the stragglers at the end. We did it together in 2005 and he seemed surprised that I was pushing him along, particularly in the uphill portions. He says this year he''ll *whoop my butt,* but I''m rather doubtful. Maybe we''ll whoop on each other.
I have a picture of me with my oldest neice when she was first born that I keep at work. It''s fun to see the reactions when people ask who those people are and I tell them it''s me and my niece Morgan. Paul still swears I don''t look a thing like the pictures of me in high school and the early years of college. I thank God I don''t!
For me, even though I suppose it can sound a bit vain, that is a big part of what inspires me when I start to feel like saying, ''forget walking, forget the gym, forget healthy food. I want what I want.'' Other than feeling better now, I also really like the positive comments and I like knowing that I can shop in whatever store I want to. (Well, other than those ridiculous stores that sell only Juniors 0-7.)
There was a time in college when I was way too obsessed and I got really pretty sick because of this desire to be like 130 pounds, which is way, way too thin for me. I''m 5''6 almost 5''7, and according to weight/height charts, I should be somewhere around 133-149, but on me, anything less than like 150 looks emaciated. My cheeks sink in, I have little energy and I just don''t feel well. Granted, 170 isn''t where I need to be, either, but I feel healthy and good at 155-160.
I try not to focus on weight in pounds and instead in how I look and feel. It''s hard sometimes, though. Especially when I think about wedding dress sizes being abnormally SMALL and the horrors of having to order a size 16 when I KNOW I''m not that size. Aye.
Exactly Mara. So, why do I do it to myself????? My trainer has been pushing us towards the "Big Boy Toys" (free weights) a lot lately. So, I''ve been actually bench pressing higher levels of weights. And I know muscle weighs more and I''ve actually grown some farily decent muscles. But I still get on the scale and get disappointed in my weight. Goofy I know.........Date: 7/25/2006 11:46:41 AM

that is why i don''t use the scale...it lies. first off, muscle weighs more than fat, but not only that, your weight can fluctuate daily as much as up to what...3-4 lbs? water weight and all that....depends on how much salt you had or didn''t have, for women what time of the month you are at, and if you are retaining water (moreso than men i think) etc. the scale is very inaccurate IMO.
when we were in TX and i weighed myself on their scale, it was not the digital type, so i saw it start at 0 and it went to 150 when i got on. well ffw''d a month and a half, the mirror is telling me that my body is changing, the tape measure is concurring and my clothes gave the thumbs up and i went to mom''s house and got on her scale, which is digital and it says 151. i was like WHAT?!?! i gained a pound after all of this?? i was pretty upset, but she told me all the same stuff i just posted, about muscle especially since i know i am building that. anyway, it can be discouraging...but all i know is that i fit into those darn shorts so the scale must be lying! hehee. this is why i am really glad i don''t keep a scale in the house. i''d be obsessed with what it DIDN''T say.
