weird dilemma

Maybe this isn''t that big of a deal - but I would just like to know what you guys would do. I watch a certain tv show all of the time (I even tivo it) - fiance just makes fun of me (but I think he secretly likes it a little). I''m hooked on this show and have been for a long time - I even talk about it with girlfriends when we get together - kind of like "gossip". Anyway, I just read today (when reading about the show) that a rather significant "X" of mine will be soon joining the show (I''m sure lots of ladies will greatly enjoy looking at him, if you know what I mean). I have no more "feelings" for him as it ended about 4 years ago (though I do wish him success) due to mutual differences. I never dreamed of marrying him or anything, but I do remember him fondly (there are no hard feelings). My fiance (soon to be husband in a few weeks - yay!!!) knows of him, but has never seen pictures and I never really talk about him. Should I keep this info to myself? I don''t want either of us to be uncomfortable watching the show. I also don''t want to feel like I''m keeping some secret. Though if the shoe were on the other foot - I''m not sure I wouldn''t be a tad bit jealous if he were rushing home every day to watch a show that had one of his exes on it. Hmmmm.

I would make light of it, like, Oh gosh! Can you believe so and so is going to be on the show? Isn''t that funny? I would be casual about it. It is not like you are suddenly into the show now that he is on it, so I would not worry too much, but just up front about it and it should be a non issue!

I totally agree with the other ladies. Make a joke out of it. You aren''t watching it because he''s on it, you''ve liked it for a while. The fact that your ex is going to be on it is funny and bizarre. (though maybe not so bizarre with the LA part of your name!) Maybe he''ll want to watch it with you now so he can find reason to "make fun of your ex". My FI knocks my ex all the time, though he''s never met him. It''s sort of his way of asserting his dominance, and I see it as that. Just don''t take it personally or get offended if he does it.

That''s funny, since I actually had that problem a little bit. My ex (who I haven''t seen in years- terrible break up, he''s now engaged) was on a TV program I don''t watch, but the FI happened to. I didn''t say anything, because it was really a one-time thing, and the only way he''d even know was if I said something like, "Oh, hey, that''s the guy who messed me up." It''s not a show we watch, and it''s not really a channel we watch, so I''m just letting it go. No need to show him who came before, it''s done. That''s just our scenario, though.

No problem. Curiosity got the better of me.

I have a mildly stalkerish X whose byline shows up from time to time in random things we read so I hadn''t mentioned his name to my FI. This all backfired when he answered my cell phone one time "just to make sure that weird guy wasn''t calling" and came bouncing up the stairs happily saying "Hey, that was your old friend XXXXX". And I was like "Uhhh ... XXXX IS the weird stalker guy." And he was like "Damn! I had no idea."
