Hey y'all! This is one of my grandmother's rings that I inherited. My uncle was an international teacher in India and he brought this ring home to her in the early 80's.
The setting is bizarre and the unknown metal is discolored. There are 8 sapphires in it, but I have no clue if they are real. I think if they actually are real, I'd like to get them reset.

I think your best bet might be to send it to a Pricescope -recommended appraiser, so that you can determine exactly what the stones are, what the metal is and also get a value on it as it stands.

There should be a list under one of the tabs at the top of the forum, or you can look up Denver Appraiser or Oldminer on the forum, both of whom are appraisers.

It looks different because it's not traditional in a "western" style.
The jewelers in places like India are just creative!
I'd bet they are real sapphires, and if the metal is discolored, it might be sterling. Very cool!

I love it. It's fun and unique and it is from your grandmother. That sentimental value is priceless.

I like it as is! It's funky and fun. You could just rhodium plate it if the metal is 'funky' in an non-fun way.
