The bottom line is that Dems did NOT come out and vote because they thought Hillary was a slam dunk. I mean, I don't blame them- common sense dictates that probably the most qualified Presidential candidate in U.S. history should have beaten a reality tv personality, but I guess we just haven't evolved enough to kick our racist, mysogonistic, uneducated past to the curb yet.

I just keep thinking that the Republican Party wouldn’t exist if it weren’t for some serious gerrymandering and the electoral college. It’s dead and fighting to hold on with every trick in the book.

I don't know if anyone posted this, but this is the yearbook caption for Merrick Garland. I'm asking both Red and Blue aisle people: don't you agree we should have high standards for who gets to serve on the Supreme Court? Shouldn't it be the best of the best, those who have served as judges with distinction and honor and expertise, rather than whoever passes the minimum acceptable standard and some political sniff test?

The correct name is "Democratic Party". After hearing Joy Reid correct a guest on her show, politely, I realized we do not have to put up with this insulting change that Republicans have attempted to make to our party's name. You all may not like it that "democratic" has a nice ring to it, but that is our party's name.

It's a bit of a non sequitar, but Merrick Garland's yearbook caption reminded me a lot of my late father's caption. My father was, of course, much older than Merrick Garland, but the captions were done in the same way and he had so many wonderful clubs listed after his name. Seeing Judge Garland's caption made me think of my dad. Thank you for posting this, partgypsy. Old fashioned good men of the old school...to be treasured. I am glad that some are still being raised today!
