FacetFire-

I LOVE the mermaid style on you too...Just wanted to ask you though, have you looked at any of the Melissa Sweet gowns? For example, the Lia or the Layla? This is a pic of the Lia- so pretty!!! Just wanted to add, as if you weren''t going crazy enough trying to decide!!!!

Thanks! Yeah, I went to a store that carried Melissa Sweet. Here are the pics: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/dress-pics-from-my-big-shopping-trip.51672/=

I tried on the Lia and some others, though they didn''t have the Layla or a couple others I was interested in. I think the Christos (which is pretty similar to the Lia in concept) is a bit more flattering. There is a pic of me in the Lia in the thread linked above...can I ask what you think?

Hi FacetFire-

Sorry I am late chiming in -was at work ALL day. Now that you pointed out that you tried on the Lia previously, I remember...DUH...I even responded to that thread! I am losing my mind!

I LOVE the Lia on you...but, I have to ask, why does the bustline on the ''Lia'' that you tried on different from the ''Lia'' pic I posted in this thread? It looks different to me. Any idea why? Or am I just seeing things? I really love it though, no matter what, it is classic yet stylish at the same time, and it shows off your awesome shape too...I would also at some point like to see you in the Romona Keveza- that dress is really pretty as well. But the Lia is just lovely on you....can you tell I like it??

It''s actually the same bustline...probably just the lighting. I can definitely tell you like it! :) Thanks!

~~I like the dress w/ the sash (no lace) the best, and the Jenny Lee second...They are both so gorgeous!! Did you find out who designed the dress with the sash yet??
I haven''t found out yet...I think it *may* be a Monique Lhuillier, but don''t quote me on that. They had a lot of her designs, were saying that she was the new Vera Wang.

The Christos gown looks like it was made to fit you and to fit your specifications -- knock ''em dead styling, tastefully done! It''s very elegant, and all the pieces fit together beautifully so that even the butt sash doesn''t look overdone!

I still love the first Priscilla gown but from what you''ve said, this is definately more ''you'' and what you''re looking for, so go for it!

Have fun with the BDD shopping. I think it might be a challenge to find bridesmaids dresses that can hold thier own next to that gown, but I''m sure they''re out there...
I''m glad you chimed in! Thanks! Yeah, I do think it is more what I''m going for...I told my mom that I wanted to make a statement with the silhouette. The Priscilla makes a statement with the details, which isn''t as much what I''m going for.

Here''s where I think it stands after sleeping on it for a night. My favorites from all my trips are the Christos, the Judd, and the Vera. I like them all pretty equally I *think*, but the Christos is $1000 less than the Judd and the Judd is $1000 less than the Vera...so I may let money make the decision for me. We''ll wait and see after I go on my next shopping trip, but I think that''s how I''m feeling right now.

I can''t thank you all enough for helping me with this! It really helps sooooo much to have other people''s opinions, and I can never seem to organize my friend''s busy schedules to have them accompany me. So thanks again! I''ll definitely post more pics if I get to try on those last two designers I''m interested in!

I love the Monique, it made me say "ohh", out loud, and I also lUV the Vera on the right.

i think the 1st is lovely, but a little plain, if you are having a really formal wedding, I would want something that stands out a bit more and the monique does that with the lace and sash, and the vera does so with the very unique (gorgeous bottom) and ruched bust.

however, alllll gorgeous selections, you have great taste and I think you are having so much trouble deciding b/c you look good in all of them and all will flatter your figure.
I am having the same problem deciding--all over the map in terms of liking lace, plain and classic, flowy and sleek--what''s up with that? It makes it so hard to decide b/c they are all so unique.
What dress do you keep thinking about in a positive way? Someone here told me to take note of the dress that keeps popping into my mind, (for me it''s the Melissa Sweet Dora dress, and if I could just find a way to pay for it, I think i would be finished shopping)

Let us know what you decide!

Thanks for the help! The Vera, Judd, and Christos are the ones that keep popping into my mind. But, I guess I''m still hoping that I''ll try on one that makes all the rest forgotten. I tried on the Dora that you love actually during my last shopping trip, I just didn''t take any pics of it. It wasn''t me...but how pretty it is! I hope you are able to get it!

nothing new to add...just wanted to say one more time:

CHRISTOS! CHRISTOS! CHRISTOS!!!!

Hehe, sorry, I was just catching up on the latest posts and looking at the pics again, and I''m even MORE pro-Christos than I was before!!! I think it''s perfect for you!!!!)

My favorites are the two with the brownish sash around the waist.

sorry, I''m a little late, first let me tell you you look beautiful in all the gowns! but IMO, CHRISTOS!!! and 2nd Vera Wang, but since I haven''t seen it on you I vote for Christos, I love the back, but the front also looks gorgeous, I loved it!!

Hehe...thanks for checking back! I am very pro-Christos at this point too. It''s so much less $$ than the Judd or the Vera, I don''t think I can justify the price difference when the Christos looks so good. But I do still want to try on some others to make sure...so I''ll let you know how it turns out! :)

Thanks for the opinion! Sashes are such a great way to add interest to an otherwise simple gown.

Thanks! I still wish I could sneak a pic of me in the Vera, but they watch you like a hawk. They wouldn''t even let my mom help me into the gowns in the fitting room...they had to do it. Grrr.

I vote for the Christos. Beautiful and elegant with a modern shape. I also love the Vera Wang and the other strapless with the sash, but with a thinner sash. You have the perfect figure for those mermaids gowns... they all look great on you!

I love the Jenny Lee on you. And the Christos... I dunnos. I love the back. but I don''t like the way it looks in the front....

Sorry I''m late --- just catching up! First one all the way -- it looks fabulous on you, and of them all, flatters the booty the most
