I like the first one the best, and the last Monique in 2nd place.
Thanks for the input! You''re sure the first one isn''t too plain?

i love the lace ML one!!

i don''t care for the Christos. it''s like someone''s tying your legs up.

and the one with the straps wasn''t on my favorites list.
I was afraid that it might photograph like that (the Christos)...it doesn''t look like that in real life as much I don''t think, because you can see the detail better. These photos are horribly washed out...

OK, with what you said into consideration, I like #2 on you. I do like the simplicity of 1, but don''t like the neckline (the fold).
Yeah, that was one of my concerns. A slight sweetheart neckline seems to flatter me more. Thanks!

Facet,

#1 compliments you as opposed to overwhelming you. I don't like the look on the sash around the knees, it may be beautiful in person but doesn't photograph well. The lace dress with the big chamagne sash is too overpowering and I just don't love the dress with the straps on your frame.

You can dress it up with jewelry, your veil, your hair, etc. and you'll be the star of the show, not the dress.

ETA: if you don't love the neckline it could be altered to remove the fold I bet.

i kinda feel like although #1 was is nice, it''s sorta ho-hum. when i think back to your previous dress threads and what you wanted-- this doesn''t seem to be that wow you were looking for. but that''s just me.

the first one definitely the best out of all of them and most visually flattering to you. i love the buttons on the back and how the dress gathers in the back as well along the body. you could use really beautiful accessories to jazz up your hair and with jewelry to make it more formal. also a floor length veil would be breathtaking.

don''t like the one with straps either. i like the one with the sash but the sash as is, is too overwhelming for me. the christos is beautiful on the side and back view but the front just looks like you have a weird band around your legs. the lace one is too visually much for me along with the sash, it''s a pretty dress though. but out of all of them definitely the first one so far on your body.

the one with the big brown sash is probably my 2nd fave... i love the lines of the dress itself, but maybe if the sash were a tiny bit thinner or shorter or a lighter color or something, maybe a tan instead of such a dark brown. i feel like the sash takes over the dress and the lines on the dress are so classic and simple, that the sash is a bit too much.
Thanks, Mara...I knew you''d break it down for me. :) Yeah, I agree that the sash looks a bit dark...it photographs darker than it is in real life...it''s more of a bronze color. You liked the Judd before, right? You still think it compares?

i like the plain dress with sash secondly. but i agree with mara. something about the sash is wrong. too think, or too much contrast against the dress- or a combo of both.

Thanks. I know what you''re saying...I thought the same thing about a simpler dress allowing for me to shine, but at the same time...I just don''t know, I want it to be memorable...

No, it''s not just you...you''re right, I don''t think it photographs as strikingly as some of the others. But what Kimberly said was very true...I stood there and saw me rather than the dress. It''s so interesting trying to strike the right balance. Thanks for the help.

i LOVE the Christos. I think if you want to be different you should stay away from sashes. Sashes and pickups are the biggest trends right now.

I LOVE the Judd, and I LOVE the ML. The ML looks just beautiful on you-it is somewhat unique, but classicly gorgeous at the same time. I am sure the Judd would look really awesome on you too. I like the Jenny Lee as well, that would be my third choice.

I don''t normally like the style of the Christos, but I have to say I think it looks amazing on you!!! It is definitely the most unique yet still so classic and gorgeous, and perfectly flattering on you!!!

I think my 2nd favorite is the one with the sash, but I agree that a lighter color sash might make it less in-your-face in a good way. And I looooooove the Monique, but maybe not with any sash at all?

But they all look great on you - can''t wait to see what you decide!

I like the first one the best (so elegant in its simplicity!) and I like the last one second best (but what color sash would you use?).

Do you not like the bronze color? We were leaning toward having brown be one of our wedding colors, so I like the idea of a brown sash, or maybe a brownish rose color...

Hmmm... maybe I would like it if it was more of a champagne. The bronze doesn''t really do it for me. (Also, keep in mind, the color could be very different in real life than what I''m seeing on my screen so maybe if I saw it in person I would love it.)

Now that I''ve seen them all:

If you''re still considering the Vera, I''d have to vote for either the Vera or the Christos (but the Christos is still my favorite). The cut is to die for on your body type, and the sweetheart neckline looks great. Plus, as I said earlier, the low sash and lace detail is amazing! The plain mermaid, even though it isn''t your size, doesn''t look like it has as rich a cut as the Christos.

The Christos is the most flattering, except for the leg band thing. The one with the brown sash is the next most flattering, especially the bodice (but fix or omit the sash). I don''t think the ML is as flattering. The Jenny Lee is ok, but in my opinion ruching is very trendy and it''ll look dated in 10 years. Have you tried on Watters 3025b? It has the same shape, but no detailing whatsoever. The neckline is straight, but could be altered to make the same sweetheart neckline that fits you well.

Okay, so I checked out your other thread and #1 is definitely a lot more simplistic than the dresses you seem to favor. I still like it best on you, but it''s not what you seem to love, so I wouldn''t choose it!

I love the christos on you as well, I think that if you want to play up your back view, that''s the one for it. The first one to me just looked too straight. The side view was almost straight, and didn''t give your the sultry curves the Christos did. :) It''s that one or the Vera to me.

Since you''ve got lots of fabulous choices and you are trying to show off your great petite figure, No to any of the dresses with sashes in the middle. You look fine in them, you can pull them off, but you are most flattered by the mermaid dresses without extra band at the waist. My fav for figure flattering is the Jenny Lee. Its beautiful, fits well, formal enough, fabulous. If you want to step up the drama a bit, the Christos looks great. The neckline is beautiful IMO. The band of lace at knee is more a personal style choice, but I think you pull off the whole look. The lace ML is certainly a beautiful *dress* and you look lovely in it, but its more about the dress than you. Lighter color sash will help, but it will still be a different emphasis than either of the first two. Much prefer the ML to the other sash dress. Of the two we don''t get to see you in, I''m not as much a fan of all the business on the Judd skirt for your petite size. Too much. And the Vera Wang is similiar to the Jenny Lee but with a little more trumpet omph. I think I prefer one of the first two to the VW, in that I don''t like the bubble skirt or bodice detailing as much on the VW, but its hard to tell entirely without you in it.

As for looking dated in the future, embrace it. You are trying on hot designer wedding dresses with various sashes and side ruching and lace. This trumpet skirt look you are going for is so right now (and so old Hollywood), but it looks fabulous on you so why not!

I really like the first one you posted in this thread. That mermaid style is gorgeous on you!! Like another poster said (sorry I don''t remember who) I am not liking the straps for you. That style of strap cuts you off and does not give you as clean a line as either strapless or a spaghetti strap.

You were lucky to be allowed pictures in the salon you visited! You look gorgeous... My favorite is definitely the first one, but then again, I''m a fan of simple dresses.

I''m having a hard time figuring out exactly WHY but I like the first one on you best BY FAR.

It has a more subtle mermaid shape that isn''t cartoony & is very back & butt flattering (as you mentioned you wanted).

Some of the other mermaid ones seem clunkily dramatic or saggy or ... wrong. To do mermaid on a petite frame I think you need to keep it streamlined.

Even the Vera goes overboard ... especially with that balloon hem (at least IMO).

The Cristos is my LEAST favorite, even behind the sleeved one ... that thigh detail rubs mee the Wwwrong way.

Late to chime in but I LOVE the Jenny Lee front and back... not so crazy from the side. Like the Christos better from the side and I prefer the neckline on you. LOVE the one with the straps too-- form every angle. Truly Beautiful!

ETA: I've taken a strong dislike to the two sash gowns. First one cuts you in half and makes you look short wasted and a bit heavier than you are. The second one... it's more balanced but I think all that lace is giving me fits.

the jenny lee is by far my favorite! LOVE it, it looks perfect on you!

second is the one with brown sash....i''m partial to sashes, had a red one on my dress!

I know what you mean, they really are popular. Amazingly enough, none of my friends have done the sash thing. I like them cause they make the waist look smaller, but you are so right, they are everywhere...thanks!

I WISH WISH WISH I could get a photo of the Judd for you guys. I''ll try to find a salon around here that I can at least sneak a pic at. It has the best neckline on me. But, it has both a sash and pickups, so I feel like it is very right now. Geez, I never realized how difficult this would be! Thanks for the input!

Thanks! The Christos is definitely the most pronouced mermaid of this bunch, which I think is why I''m drawn to it...I think the mermaid silhouette is very dramatic and striking. I''ll definitely keep you guys posted!

Maybe if I were more tan? I''m so attracted to brown shades. But I definitely see what you mean...thanks!

i like the second one the best. it looks very elegant.

The Vera and the Christos are the most pronouced mermaids, so I keep coming back to them too. Thanks for the opinion! I wish I had gotten a better shot of the Christos skirt detail...maybe next time I can get one.

Thanks! I''ll have to check out that Watters. I went to one place with Watters gowns, but they didn''t seem to have a great selection.
