I really like this cake topper and think that it would be perfect. It is rather expensive (around $250) and was considering doing something similar myself. What do my fellow PSers think?

It was also in the latest Martha Stewart Weddings mag

oops here is the picture

It''s very interesting. If you like it, you should get it.

I think it'd be really fun to recreate this cake topper. Because it's such an unusual piece, however, I think you should consider how well it goes with the overall theme or feel of your wedding. If it does go, then you should definitely go for it. I personally really like it a lot and if I were a guest at your wedding I would get a kick out of it.

I think it''s very cool, and actually should be pretty easy to make!

Thanks everyone. I really like it and our wedding would definitely be very laid back and DIY. I love the cake topper and believe that it is made from paper and glitter so I am thinking that I would try to recreate something similar instead of shelling out the $250.

I think it''s lovely! I''d definitely try and recreate it.

Is the topper the entire base, with the bride and groom, plus the overhead flowers and birds?

I don''t love it. I feel it is busy without being striking.

It depends on the style of your wedding - I imagine it could be beautiful.

But it is what you think that counts.

Reason I was asking is this - if your theme is very earthy, and definitely WITH birds, then I like it. I think it''s pretty and would complement a simple cake very well. But I don''t like the bride and groom inside very much - they look like paper that someone just stuck inside something much more elegant. I certainly don''t see $250 for that. But if you got it or made something similar to it, I''d choose a different bride and groom. Something like this fits the earthy theme a lot more to me. But that''s just my interpretation.

Ack! Sorry that was so huge! Maybe this will be better...

It's the Willow Tree figurines. I think this one's called Promise.

I think that is adorable.

And I love your quotation, btw

I think I am in love with the flowers and vintage feel. I really like the idea if the Willow tree figurines too.
