What are you wearing today?! Show me your CS!

Today's is a ~2 carat unheated pink sapphire ring. I was told that unheated pinks tend to be lighter; untreated darker pinks are less common. Has that been your experience?

Gorgeous @YC! Mine is unheated too and has a similar colour to yours. The vendor seemed to have a stash that shade at the time.

I bought from the same vendor. He did tell me a story about how a customer (ie you) bought an unheated pink sapphire which he thought was heated, because unheated pinks are usually not so intense. Very nice ring by the way. Your sapphire looks big - how many carats is that?

Lol it's a small world! He has some really nice pinks. I love this shade of pink and it's so sparkly as well.

Mine is ~ 3 carats!

I love your ring! Did you buy it in the setting with him too? Really cool and pretty setting!!!!

My lepidochrosite in quartz with a teeny rhodolite garnet ring & my star ruby stackers whom the cabochons were gifted from a dear lapidary.

So cool! Love them all!

I’m wearing my Coober Pedy opal today. Clear/blueish base with turquoise and deep blue glitter pattern. Next to impossible to capture on camera. I call it the ‘Looking glass’ because it’s very glass like.

Oooh! Gorgeous!
What's a cheeky laksa?

Lol a chicken laksa with extra noodles. Huge serve I kinda need to roll home afterwards because I'm stuffed to the gills! Lol I'll take a pic for you and post it in my junk thread.

My blue spinel is one of my favorite gems, and I absolutely adore it, but it looks sad in the sun next to these other gems. The opal was still in mounting wax at this time. I can’t stop taking pictures of it, and well the Paraiba and pinkish red spinel, sigh!

Ok, I’m done taking pics now!!

I bought it after it was set. I saw the stone when it was unset, but did not buy because there was an asymmetric window.:(2 It was cut with less facets on one side. I loved +++ the colour though. But after it was set, the window was much less obvious, probably because of reflections from the back of the setting.

Haha mine is wonky cut too if you stare at the stone without wearing the ring. The culet is more to one side on mine. But when you wear it you don't notice

I think colour is king in this case and it's sparkly despite the less than ideal cutting. It's one of my favourites!

Those are all gorgeous! I love your blue spinel too and I think it has a wonderful subtlety in color. The opal is stunning and I absolutely adore the setting for it. It completely carries out the mood of the opal and is a whole universe in itself, leaving nothing to be desired! Plus, fabulous size:razz:

Agree! The colour of your stone is so intense and mesmerising that most people will not see the minor issue with the cut.

Glassy jadeite studs today with their jackets... the line in the middle is actually the backing for the stud part so I’ve been wondering if i should just cover the back so that the line isn’t visible... first world problems. ::)

I love your icy jade!! That setting is gorgeous. Again, like Bluegemz, I know why you call yourself “icy jade.”

@Bluegemz, thanks for the kind words.

Again, another sapphire that photographs better than what my eye sees. I see more of a gray mask in person.

Voce, I also have just recently noticed this. I bought a very inexpensive sapphire cabochon and when I took photos of it I noticed this. While the gem in person is a lovely blue, it came up much more brighter and richer overall than in person. Heres an example of it below. Strange huh?
