First picture is from last night, LED light, and second picture is this morning. My pillow ring from Cecile Raley Designs.

Gorgeous @YC

You've still got your other pink right?

Hehe I see you're steadily going bigger!

@mellowyellowgirl yes. That 2+ carat looks smallish now. My rings are getting progressively larger but I do not know if I will ever reach the size of your or @ChaiK 's rings.

Haha @ChaiK has me well trained.

Actually my husband is well trained too! When I first started out all he liked was a nice little 6mm stone. Anything bigger than that was too big and too loud! Now anything below 8mm he's like: Bit small. How is anyone going to see something so tiny? What's the point?

It's all the fault of the giant boulders of jade!!!

Wearing my unheated Sri Lankan pink sapphire ring. Just over 3 carats. From my local jeweller Wriston.
@YC that is a perfect pink, tending towards purple, sapphire. You have quite the eye!!

IMHO this guy Wriston is something special, he sure knows a fabulous colored stone when he sees one, and he must be exceptionally well respected in the trade to get the kind of pricing he gets. Not only that, he passes those prices on to his customers, and that tells me he is in this for the passion and not necessarily just for the profit.

@mellowyellowgirl hahaha... But honestly, I fear hitting and chipping the stones if it gets too big, esp when they reach the sizes which you wear. I am clumsy

@prs, thank you. I do not know how he is viewed by his peers but he was initially recommended to us by a pearl supplier we used to frequent. I think that he is in tune with his customers' preferences, is very knowledgeable and tries to source for reasonably priced items. His shop is small but what I like about buying from him is that he is upfront and does not pressure us just to close a deal.
Having said that, I suspect prices in Asia are likely lower than in the US, if you go to the right vendors.

Omg that's gorgeous @icy_jade

Are they new????

Today I'm experimenting with stacking: Top to bottom, spessartite (which is much oranger in real life, but my camera hates it); S CBI (an S color diamond counts as a colored stone, right? ;-) ); wedding band; chrysoberyl. (Don't worry, only the metal settings touch--the stones won't scratch each other.)fullsizeoutput_667a.jpeg

Omg you set it!!!! It's gorgeous

Come back here and post more pics woman!!!!!!

HI:

Wearing as a pendant today

Do you have a thread on this piece? I’d love to know more about it. That yellow gold looks so rich, the yellow of your stone is the perfect yellow, and the halo really makes it pop.
