Ruby today



It looked amazing under direct sunlight but unfortunately can’t take proper pics to show how it looks. Here is one attempt:

Thanks ladies! I dunno how to explain but I think the effect is more due to silk than fluoroscence since I know this ruby doesn’t have strong fluoro.

It looks nice under spotlight as all gems do, but not as glowy? The ruby does have some fluoro but it isn’t strong so that bit of fluoro gives just a bit of visual effect I think? But just a bit.

Me: Well...yes. Yes, it is. It's a real chrysoberyl.
