The glow! The glow!
I can see the amazing glow @icy_jade! It is glorious!!! And not snot sized!!!! You did good snapping that one up!!!!
Wow. That is a gorgeous ruby.
Thanks ladies! I dunno how to explain but I think the effect is more due to silk than fluoroscence since I know this ruby doesn’t have strong fluoro.
Awwww… thanks so much! That’s such a lovely compliment. You have a great eye. That is all.
It looks nice under spotlight as all gems do, but not as glowy? The ruby does have some fluoro but it isn’t strong so that bit of fluoro gives just a bit of visual effect I think? But just a bit.@icy_jade I wonder if it's the same as how some emeralds glow like crazy and no one can really say why.
Does it glow under normal lightbulbs inside too?
Oh…I adore this combo, can we see more pls?
Thank you! You mean more photos or more combos? I'll do some experimenting.
The Ribbon!
Sapphire, chrysoberyl + OEC. Pls!
Here you go, @Neptune. I'm afraid these photos are very similar to the original one, since I took them all in the same spot at the same time.

inspirational palettes and I like the white metal solitaire settings. Rocks straight up without distractions.
Where can I see more of your chrysoberyl? Does it shift?
Here's my thread from when I first had it set. It doesn't shift very much, but it's greener in daylight, especially when it's reflecting the blue sky, and yellower indoors. The photos in this thread ("What are you wearing today?") show it more washed out than it is in real life--it has lots of color.
Faceted chrysoberyl in DanielM Argentium sterling silver basket setting
I know I'm behind the PS curve on faceted chrysoberyl (though I think I was ahead of the curve on chrysoberyl cat's eye), but I've finally caught up. The stone is from an etsy lapidary, RaysCustomGems. I had a hard time capturing its beauty in the picture--the cut is lovely. DanielM made an...www.pricescope.com
I had coffee with my childhood best friend today. She always speaks her mind, and I love her. She pointed to my chrysoberyl and said, "Is that real?"
Me: Well...yes. Yes, it is. It's a real chrysoberyl.
BFF: Oh. What's a chrysoberyl?
Me: This is! What did you think it might be a real one OF?
BFF: I don't know--a diamond or something?
Me: No, not a diamond. Have you ever seen a diamond this color?
BFF: That's why I asked! What color IS it, anyway?
Me: Kind of chartreuse.
BFF: What color is chartreuse?
Me: This is!
Then we both laughed and talked about other things.
Now, I remember reading the chat, haha!
Did you take any pictures of it without the setting?
