What are you wearing today?! Show me your CS!

Finally, the weekend! It's changed so fast into Fall here. It's cold in the mornings now and the light is very different. I'm going to dance class, then I'm making some pumpkin soup and bread dough which I can bake tomorrow for some guests for lunch tomorrow . You know, the flavor is better when it is made one day before!
Anyway, I don't wear this bangle often, but the browns and reddish yellows seem to fit with the mood. I bought about 4 of these stuffed pumpkins yesterday! They are so silly but I just find this kind of thing irresistibly cute.

Really beautiful jade Mellowyellow, Seaglow and Burmesedaze! I love the lavenders and of course, the icy and glassy jades! Seaglow, I love both rings worn together like that! Also love both styles. And the drink looks delicious! What is it?

It's cold peppermint tea with honey. :)

How wonderful! That IS a beautifully delicious drink. Immediately I thought it might be something like a mint mojito. Lol.

I bought this bangle for it's tiny patch of green which is my prefect green. Hehe the rest of it is rather grey!

Excuse the dry hands! I was up late baking lemon meringue pie and forgot to moisturise!20171001_111559.jpg

Yes it is and a huge price tag as well!!!

Do you know if they are sparkly in real life? I haven't even seen a tourmaline in real life! Hubby is just attracted to anything that's obviously pink! Doesn't like pink diamonds though! Claims they don't look that pink to him and we can never afford anything that would look pink enough!

The zircon has surprised me. It has more "sparkle" than I expected a colour stone to have.

Zircon has double refraction so it sparkles a lot! That's why it's on my list of gems to own. :mrgreen2: Tourmaline sparkles (especially if it's well cut) but not to the same extent as zircon. I have a few tourmalines and I've never noticed a lack of sparkle. Great color and sparkle...what more can you ask for?

Does anyone else do this? Just putting on funny combinations at home and admiring them that you wouldn't really wear them out together. 20171001_111638-1.jpg 20171001_111631-1.jpg
You do have a really large ring already! I had forgotten about your rose quartz. It Looks great on your hand. I do that frequently ! I've started to wear rings out in unusual combinations because I find it interesting and artistic. There is a conversation happening between the pieces, each one making the other more of its own unique thing. I think that combo works well because of the gentleness of the rose quartz. It's not acrimoniously competing with the other...I like it. Cool!

In fact, sometimes I see women wearing many rings and bracelets together which don't really go, but I always find myself fascinated with the combinations as much or more than with the individual pieces.

I own quite a few bangles and I've always been tempted to wear one on each hand but I'm too chicken to!

It feels a bit busy but I really want to do it!

OMG!!!! Close up of the jade and if possible a price range please???? I am having Jade dramas!

See below photos which I took from another thread.

So my quest to have my perfect imperial jade ring has come into fruition.

Imperial Jade is really elusive. In order for jade to be considered imperial, it has to be transluscent, of good texture, and good color with the right tone of green. Untreated ofcourse, so Type A Jade. I wanted a decent-sized cab with a good thickness, which is difficult as imperial jade usually occurs in thin veins...so a good bangle is really a museum piece.

Here's the ring in different lighting conditions. In direct sunlight, under LED lamp, and in natural light.

It has a diamond halo consisting of pear-shaped diamonds, F-color, VVS, jade center stone with AIGS report, set in 18K white gold.

I really love rose quartz and lighter coloured translucent jade because, like you pointed out, they are almost always in harmony with the surrounding pieces and are complementary rather than divas.

But but but I have no real big fancy schmancy cocktail ring. These here are the largest in my collection. I wore the blue spinel ring with the sapphire earrings for the official reception this year since they are the dressiest I have.20171001_184821-1.jpg

These are not the best pictures, because my ruby ring looks really dark, but this is what I'm wearing today....

I love how they are delicately designed and put together, matching your delicate top!

Minous, as per request, these are the pearls which I wore today! The bracelet is baroque SS with 22k, as are the pendant and earrings.

Yum. Lickout.

I rarely wear amber because it doesn't look that great on me, but today I felt like it. I mostly rid myself of my amber collection but these are just a few, small pieces i have left. I had 2 beautiful and expensive necklaces of untreated amber which I sold and gave away. The pendant is from Gedansk on the Baltic Sea, where my grandfather was from. I love the flow of the stone. The earrings were a gift from a friend and have citrines.

Here is a picture of the natural butterscotch necklace which I sold. It was lovely except on me, it brought out the yellow in my eyes and teeth lol! A tragedy because I LOVED the color! Alas, I can get away more with the darker amber colors. Which reminds me, I recently saw a small, fine faceted cherry amber beaded necklace which was seriously stunning. Does anyone have some of this that they'd like to share?

Is this what they call beeswax amber in the trade?

Cherry red, untreated, was the amber Burma was once known for. But since depleted or else mostly in Chinese hands.

I would so love to get my hands on some.

I have heard as beeswax amber which is a kind of hard wax that looks like amber. I knew of a lady who had a bangle made out of it and it smelled like beeswax too. Amazing that it's hard enough for a bangle!
As I know, this is called butterscotch but it might have other names. This was unpressed, carved from natural amber without heat or compression.

Oh me too! It's so beautiful! These beads were small, fine and glittery with a deep, cherry red! I believe that the Chinese market has really driven up the price of the Baltic amber too, and now copal, which is not really amber by many millions of years, is overwhelmingly sold as true amber.

You're so creative ! I never know how to stack different sized rings.lovely combo ❤️
Today's stack: Aquaprase in yellow gold, Rose cut moonstone in yellow gold, pink sapphire mêlée rose gold band
