So pretty! I find that it’s extremely hard to accurately capture the color of rubies with my iPhone camera, especially without flash. Even then, it’s really hard. I would say as difficult as emeralds!
Lovely! That’s exactly what happens to me too. I have to force myself to wear the older things and I’ve been ignoring a big part of my collection lol!

Love this! Beautiful. Also that ruby bracelet was such a stunner.
@Burmesedaze that sapphire ring is so cute!!!!!! I really like the halo around it!!!!!
Off Topic: The drama of my friend's fingers swelling is now making me wonder if I should size up all my new rings by 0.25 sizes. Just in case!
I bought this spessartite stone for a simple ring. I would like to save for a bigger spess ring which would be my dream orange ring, but at around 6k from my favorite jeweler, it’s not first on my wish list because I really want an ice jade cabochon ring first. My dream spess ring will be a large, single stone with some accent diamonds. So, I thought I’d make a smaller one for now because I really NEED an orange ring ! I will buy some pink spinels as side stones so I can wear it with my spess and pink spinel bracelet.
I met a new jeweler who does great work and is very reasonable, so I’ll try him for my moonstone earring project and this spess ring.
Anyway, this stone is a deep orange with reddish flashes. I can’t capture the color all that well. These are the spinels which I thought would look good, but maybe less saturated. Not sure yet.
Definitely yellow gold. I have a few setting inspirations...here are two off the top.A sizzling combo I think! Would it be in yellow gold? Any setting inspirations?

The one with the halo, I think id chose the largest stones in the halo as spinel and the smaller diamonds, or something like that. I’m going to design it based on the stones which I receive...the other simple east west setting would be lovely with claw prongs.
I’m thinking that side stones would be great though. Those are 3.3 mm or something like that. I could find larger ones. I’ll just think about it. Maybe a small halo with pink side stones. I know it’s not very original but I think it would work.Halo has my vote i like the contrast.
The spinels may be too small as sidestones.

That pink topaz shard ring is wonderful! Do you have any additional pictures? It looks so unique. Actually, I'm an idiot. I just realized that I can click on the pic and it expands...still, such a lovely ring.
Thank you Suzanne! I’ll post some additional pictures. Various lights to show different color ranges it has, although it rarely looks quite as pink as the middle picture. I was attracted to it because of how skinny it is! It reminds me of a shard of glass. The setting was completely hand built for the stone in Brazil. That pink topaz shard ring is wonderful!
