What are you wearing today?! Show me your CS!

Tiny but pretty. I think my Mogok untreated rubies look best in daylight. They are closest to the photo taken with flash with what my eyes register the colour as. No flash makes look washed out indoors with daylight.20171006_105716-1.jpg 20171006_105610-1.jpg

So pretty! I find that it’s extremely hard to accurately capture the color of rubies with my iPhone camera, especially without flash. Even then, it’s really hard. I would say as difficult as emeralds!

Lovely! That’s exactly what happens to me too. I have to force myself to wear the older things and I’ve been ignoring a big part of my collection lol!

Yes I did have to force myself though because when you're dressed in casual wear you can't always wear something too fabulous and Blingy ! :Up_to_something2:

Thanks for the lovely compliments everyone. It was all done by Caysie. I had seen the Isadora when it was first posted and my jaw literally dropped. When Caysie put a few emeralds up, I snatched one and had her make the ring. She is wonderful to work with. I don't have a creative bone in my body so she ran with it. Man I love this ring!!

Yes! Somehow the reds look too pink and with flash, too dark. Goldilocks moments :)

All sapphires and jadeite today. Strange indoor lights kind of washing things out, especially the carved bangle. Not pictured is a blue jadeite bangle and jadeite earrings.

Indoors natural shot making another Mogok untreated ruby look good. But making its pink sapphire counterpart look... Ditchwater pink. If such a term existed :P20171007_131436.jpg 20171007_153718-1.jpg 20171007_153712-1.jpg

@Burmesedaze that sapphire ring is so cute!!!!!! I really like the halo around it!!!!!

Off Topic: The drama of my friend's fingers swelling is now making me wonder if I should size up all my new rings by 0.25 sizes. Just in case!

I love halos too :)

I get swollen fingers monthly and also when it hits well over 30 degree Celsius. What I do is I size my rings to fit my right hand middle finger comfortably with no finger pudge. When they swell I either wear them on the left middle finger which is a tad smaller or else switch to the 4th fingers.

That green is divine:kiss2:

I'm wearing a tourmaline ring that my husband and I got at an antique show about 10 years ago, as an engagement ring today.

Wonderful stone!

Tourmaline, that looks great on you! What a gorgeous ring!!!

I bought this spessartite stone for a simple ring. I would like to save for a bigger spess ring which would be my dream orange ring, but at around 6k from my favorite jeweler, it’s not first on my wish list because I really want an ice jade cabochon ring first. My dream spess ring will be a large, single stone with some accent diamonds. So, I thought I’d make a smaller one for now because I really NEED an orange ring ! I will buy some pink spinels as side stones so I can wear it with my spess and pink spinel bracelet.

I met a new jeweler who does great work and is very reasonable, so I’ll try him for my moonstone earring project and this spess ring.

Anyway, this stone is a deep orange with reddish flashes. I can’t capture the color all that well. These are the spinels which I thought would look good, but maybe less saturated. Not sure yet.

A sizzling combo I think! Would it be in yellow gold? Any setting inspirations?

Definitely yellow gold. I have a few setting inspirations...here are two off the top.
The one with the halo, I think id chose the largest stones in the halo as spinel and the smaller diamonds, or something like that. I’m going to design it based on the stones which I receive...the other simple east west setting would be lovely with claw prongs.

Halo has my vote :) i like the contrast.
The spinels may be too small as sidestones.

I’m thinking that side stones would be great though. Those are 3.3 mm or something like that. I could find larger ones. I’ll just think about it. Maybe a small halo with pink side stones. I know it’s not very original but I think it would work.

The setting charges would be less for a simpler design. Side stones would lend the ring more presence.

So today I’m into pink and orange and wearing my pink topaz shard ring, the spinel and spess bracelet and moonstone necklace with spess heart pendant.

That pink topaz shard ring is wonderful! Do you have any additional pictures? It looks so unique. Actually, I'm an idiot. I just realized that I can click on the pic and it expands...still, such a lovely ring.

Thank you Suzanne! I’ll post some additional pictures. Various lights to show different color ranges it has, although it rarely looks quite as pink as the middle picture. I was attracted to it because of how skinny it is! It reminds me of a shard of glass. The setting was completely hand built for the stone in Brazil.
