pkinnew -- I had a rough day and your HG (which means "Holy Grail", sea urchin) made me smile widely at the first moment I have to relax today and check up on my pearl peeps. They look absolutely fantastic on you!!! I just adore them.

Just wondering why they are called "Ugly Ducks?" Were they really named that in her site? If so, it's cute reminds me of "The ugly duckling" story. But your pearls are of course not ugly at all. I love the layering.

I just love the torsades Hisano created for bsomlo and baby nurse. So in the spirit of that design, I twisted together some of my smaller strands that I rarely wear because I prefer a larger look.

Oh hey, great minds think alike! I did something like that the other day (but not nearly as nicely or as tidily as you). I was trying to make myself feel better after my long-term hairdresser went insane and cut off more than half my hair without talking to me about it first. (you guys may notice that in most of my neck shots I either have my hair pinned up, or that it was several inches below my shoulders....somehow our discussion of taking off an inch or so turned into an unwanted chin length bob). I made myself feel better by saying "all the better to see my pearls with!"

This was my 6mm white metallic strand from the July PP sale mixed with a cheap akoya strand I got on Overstock.com 11 years ago.

Edit: Thanks Bsomio! It is actually quite cute. Everyone is telling me so. It was just traumatic and unexpected! She literally was just combing my hair and SNIP! And then there was nothing else to do! (edited again for my spelling...the trauma is numbing my fingers, clearly)

CMD2014…I think your hair is wonderful short.
Frost me, those Tahitians are out of this world. A rope like that is on my wish list.
Here are my teeny tiny pearls worn layered. a 36" 5.5-6mm metallic, and a 50" 5.5-6mm oval rope. They are so light I can't even feel them on.
