what colored gems with rose gold?

I love the look of rose gold (not exactly PINK gold... more like that antiquey coppery roseish) with warmish diamonds, but I''ve always been more of a colored gemstone girl myself. What colored gems do you think go especially well with rose gold?

I think your avatar stone would be great in rose gold. Because rose (red) and green are complimentary colors (opposite each other on the color wheel) the contrast would make the green stone POP!

Here are my favorite stones in rose gold...
-pink tourmalines/spinels or other soft pink stones (not so much the hot pinks like mahenges, rubellites, etc.)
-mint green or olive green stones with good saturation
-purples like tanzanite

Purples
Greens, but mostly minty or lighter greens. I tend to prefer medium and darker greens in yellow.
Some pink gems, mostly lighter pinks
Some white gems

I wonder what a blue gem would look like in rose gold...

I don''t think it''s possible. Correct me if I''m wrong, but I think the color of the rose gold comes from the alloy itself, which has a higher proportion of copper. White gold, on the other hand, is usually yellowish (but not as yellow as yellow gold) on its own, but its bright white finish comes from rhodium plating.

My wedding ring is white gold and now I wish I had rose gold.

I agree. I love the delicate shades of green, purple and pink/peachy in rose gold. I have an olive diamond in a rose gold head and it really brought out the green hue.

BTW Velouria, I don''t think your avatar stone is well suited to rose gold. I think the medium green is too strong and will clash with it. Lovely stone, though!

Probably not in the market for it right now, but I think it would look pretty good in rose gold. Maybe something like mochi''s bezel-set chrysoberyl.

I have a minty green chrysoberyl and a demantoid garnet set in rose gold. I think they both look nice.

Are you referring to your Dan Stair amethyst? I remember when you first posted a picture without any specs or what type of gem it was. Its gorgeous! I love its color.

pretty much any shade of purple, light minty greens, light to medium blue/blue green, certain peaches and pinks but they have to be just the right shade and saturation or else the rose gold sucks the color out of them...
