Hi. I am asking opinions on what color gold this AiGS cert unheated ruby would look best in. I like white gold with the setting below because I feel like it gives the ring a more antique feel, but I feel like it might wash out the color of the ruby. I also think yellow gold compliments it and brings the red out more but doesnt compliment my skin tone that well and loses the antique feel. I also consider rose gold, but i think it would bring out the pink in the stone more. I will try to get some pictures in daylight as well near the gold colors, but for now what are your guys opinions? Thanks :)

How about a yellow bezel with the rest in white gold?

DK :))

Personally white gold always reminds me of vintage/ antique Art Deco jewelry so if that’s your thing I’d 100% go for that. I think white gold is a neutral background that would allow the red to really pop. Yellow gold would be okay but if it isn’t the best on your skin then you may not be happy with it while wearing. Imho rose gold blends together with reddish or pinkish stones in a way that doesn’t allow the color to really shine unlike colors that are complimentary to rosy shades like greens and teals. Just some thoughts- it’s a lovely stone!

Thanks it looks more gummy and translucent IRL than this vendor photo, just waiting for daylight to get some good pics, but I am leaning more towards white gold.

I love yellow but if white is what you want, just do it. =)2

That's a pretty ruby. I'd go yellow

White gold-- I love how they go together!

I'm not really a white gold lover, but it looks so great with the ruby! White gold is my vote :-)

I agree with @dk168... yellow gold head with a white gold body. To me, it just enriches the color of the ruby. And, as much as I love rose gold, I'm just not a fan of it with rubies. They clash, imo. Enjoy!!

I'm a yellow gold girl, what about that apricot/peach gold I keep hearing about? I think DK does a version and I'm sure others do too. I have a vintage spinel ring that has an apricot like colored rose gold and I really like it. It would be a nice contrast.

Normally I would say yellow, but I like how it looks more blue next to the white metal.
