@ lala646, My jewelry interests are really my only hobby. Like yours, my husband has more than plenty. Collecting mugs, hats, trophies/awards from running, genealogy, reading, and studying to name a few. He works full time and is very active in the community.
my husband has so many hobbies that take up so much space in our small apartment, there's no room for me to collect "stuff".
Cats![]()
Witch balls. They're so pretty and who doesn't want a tried and true defense against a hex?
Not my picture, but I have at least 12 or so.
It reminds me, I want to get some more!

*It's crazy, but I've never actually been in a Starbucks, but I love the cups.
Sigh, where to start.
I’m on the spectrum so the collecting has always been strong in me.
I would go through phases / obsessions of different things.
Watches have always been a favourite. At my peak I had over 80. I have all sorts, including obviously ladies wrist watches but I also collected compact watches (a ladies face powder compact set with a watch movement) and other small / unusual clocks.
I’ve also have had a life long thing about wooden boxes. My favourites are the Puzzle boxes / inlaid boxes.
I have a collection of Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre, Clarice Cliff and other English porcelain including Crown Devon and Carltonware. I have a Lalique Fish Collection and the Chameleon collection (all 10) plus a pin dish and a ring.
since I’ve been “medicated” my behaviours are less intense / compulsive but I still have most of my special treasures. The self imposed rule with the watches is no new one unless I sell another.
I have a lot of stuff, mostly I curate it so that it’s not junk I’m keeping. It’s only fair on DH that I fund my new purchases with the sale proceeds of other things.
I could post 1,000 photos but here are a few.

a little bit simiilar to dear @Bron357 a charteristic of dystgraphia (as well as the not being able to spell and bad handwritting) is some obsessivness/ collecting
i have china pertaining to the royal family
i look at other collections on PS and i wish i could define my collection better
because i have everything from NZ railways cups & saucers to really fine Ansley pieces but souverner pieces throught history have been available to all demographics !
i have an old glass vase from Queen Victoria's diamond jubilee
i havnt brought anything much for 4 years but ive had a bit of a splurge over xmas
i mean the stuff is pretty much worthless and
We have arrived at a solution which I believe will give greater distance between the princess's activities and the royal house,' he said. 'I am sorry that the princess will no longer represent the royal house.'
He stressed that his daughter has remained a princess at his request, saying: 'She is our daughter, and she will continue to be. So she is Princess Märtha Louise.'
with each breath i take depreciation is rampent
with two generations downsizing and the younger ones not having much interest in stuff /dust collectors i cant help but think of the nations grandmas and nanas who treasured these pieces and kept them for good never using them
but it gives me pleasure to look at them
i have learnt much about the economy of collecting from the thread on the forum of PS so i hope i buy a bitter these days
so thank you to the contributers of that particular thread
but right now im stressing i have 4 royal themed thimbles (I dont even collect/like thimbles) but i hate the number 4 so im looking for another one !
last night we had a very scary earthquake
it was a jolt followed by rolls and went on for a seemingly endless 30 seconds
things fell over in the pantry and everything was rattaling like crazy and Fuffa Duffa was going nuts
i hung on to the flat screen
before it had completly finished i rushed to the spair room to check on the Kings and Queens
but Queen Mary had everyone under control
Queen Vic was not amused
Queen Alexanda was long suffering
the Queen mum was keeping calm and carring on
The Queen was not complaing nor explaing
Diana was giving everybody hugs
and Charles was ok because Cam was with him
surprisingly neither Edward viii, H&M or Prince Andrew were harmed
i must find a picture, i keep them in the spair room so Gary doesnt have to see them but i also have a few plates on the wall here and there and a few things in the lounge china cabinet and in the bedroom
it gives me pleasure to look at them
Fine bone china cup sets with pretty flowers on them!
Mine is into 3D printing, autocross, sim racing, biking, kick-scooting, motorcycles, car repair, photography, cooking & baking, building computers, and general tinkering. It's a lot to handle. He's an incredible human being, but can you just feel the ADHD radiating from this post?![]()
That is really fun! Did you ever see the first episode of The World According to Jeff Goldblum? First episode of the first season is about sneakers. It was very fun, and he even had a custom pair made.
it started either xmas or my birthday 1982 mum gave me a plate for Lady Di's wedding, then a few years latter a rather huge tankard of Andrew and Sarah, then a tenny tiny plate of Prince Edward (Prince Edward spent some of his gap year in NZ)
Around the same time Mum gave me this that was probably grandma's or from grandma
it is even more crammed in now
im thinking about moving the bookcase out and getting a new cabinet for this room
this picture is from before covid (I have posted a ton of photos on PS)
in the earthquake last night it was the top i was most worried about because i adore King Goerge vi and the Queen mum
its loosely grouped by reign
the late Queen being the largest because of the '53/'54 corrination tour of NZ
Very cool collection, and you're so organized to group them by reign.
