Can I ask your opinion on this save the date magnet? I know it''s a bit whimsical, and we''re not going for anything too serious. I like that we can customize the hair colors (the bride will have blond hair). We''ll probably keep the background blue?

Do you think it''s cute or cheesy? Also, do you think the size is ok? It''s about the size of a business card so I worry that it''s a little small? But I guess guests don''t need a big thing for their refridgerators anyway???

Thanks for your input :) You guys are always so helpful in gauging whether an idea is good or silly :)

Or we could do the green background....what do you guys think?

I think it''s really cute--it is whimsical and fun, but that''s the charm of a save-the-date--it isn''t a formal invite, so it CAN be whimsical and fun. I think it''s adorable.

I agree, it is cute and fun!! I love it!
FI wouldn''t have agreed with me, but if your FI supports the idea then I say go for it!!!
M~

Way cute! Go for it.

I think that it is fantastic. Great original idea that mixes it up a little bit. It makes it more "personal" as it likely suits your personality, right?

Love it!

thanks, guys! i''m glad you think it''s cute! it definitely does reflect our personalities, especially because the bride is sassy and wearing a short little dress :) (Not that I''m wearing a short wedding gown, but i think it''s just so cute!)

One more question - is it necessary to say "Formal invitation will follow" ?? That just makes it seem crowded to me because we want to include our website address. And I feel like it''s obvious that this silly little magnet is not the actual invitation....

super cute, i would have done something similar (cute and fun) if the ones we made didn''t work out. adorable!! where did you find it by the way?

Thanks, Kara! They are from this place - http://www.savethedatemagnet.com

What did you end up using for yours? I am so impressed with everyone who DIYs! Share pictures? Or is there a thread I missed from before?

I think they''re great! I would personally go with my wedding colors if possible, but if you don''t care/want it to match, I think either the blue or green are fine! I love how fun they are, and I think your guests will be excited to receive them.

That''s VERY cute! I have that exact same image on my Wedbook application on my facebook page. It was one of the images they let me choose for it. Cool!

Here is the thread about mine... we did postcards and the last picture on the thread is what we ended up using. They were fun to make, but sooo time consuming. We also knew someone who would print them for us for free, but I was really looking at the magnets if that didn''t work out.

I think you should use the ones you found, they are super adorable...what a great find!!! I know I was looking at magnetstreet.com but there wasn''t anything as cute as the one you found!

It''s awesome!

My STD magnets were business card size so I think that is fine. They were a good size. I also think the design is cute.

So cute! Great website too!

Tacori - thanks! I''m glad your b-card size worked out well :)

Kara - awww, I love yours!!! FI and I really, really wanted to do STDs with our pics, but our photog is in DC and is scheduled to do our epics in March (the next time I''ll be in DC)....so, epics won''t be done in time to use for STDs. But your''s are exactly what I would have loved to do!!! So cute and unique :) Did you send them already? What did people think?

thanks!! we did send them already, we didn''t get many comments but my friends and family aren''t really the type to call up and comment. i think they may have thought it was a little weird too, probably didn''t even look at the picture much just flipped it over to see what the heck it was. we did put our wedding website on the STD and we have had LOTS of hits so that''s a good sign!!

so are you going to go with the ones you posted??

Kara - that is great that you got lots of website hits! :) I bet people thought the pics/postcards were very cute! And yes, I did decide to go with the magnets I posted! We ordered last night after everyone''s helpful comments on here, making me feel validated and that they were cute, not cheesey :)

I will let you all know how they turn out! I think we get a proof before they produce them, so maybe I can post that!
