What did you ask Father Christmas (aka Santa Claus) for this year?

and perhaps more importantly, were you naughty or nice?

I asked that my house be completed...but it won''t be done until March or so.

So then I asked for Swarovski watch so hubby bought me the "Rio de Janiero" one with the floating crystals in the face...but the glass over the face is cracked in 4 places.

(Yes I got it early).

I was both naughty and nice this year.

how expensive are these Kosta Boda Atoll vase/bowls? they are really pretty

they remind me of something, but I just can't put my finger on it...

Oo, I don''t know. I just want to be happy and healthy and together with my family this year. I''ve been horribly spoiled every day of my life for the past five years. So, being all together would be the icing on the cake...so to speak

For myself, I buy Kosta Boda Atoll pieces on Ebay auctions. I bid very conservatively, though, so I have lost more items than I have won. I have found that the ending price usually depends on how high the shipping cost will be. I have seen a few auctions where the shipping cost is way out of line. I usually try to keep the total cost (my max bid plus shipping) at 50% or lower than what it would cost at a store. Some of the pieces are pre-owned. One piece did have a blemish, but for the price I won it, I decided to keep it and not raise a fuss.

For presents, I go to the store nearby to me that sells Kosta Boda. I think it is worth paying full price so that I can check to make sure the piece and the box look perfect before I give it to someone special. Votive bowls are @ $35. The larger size bowls are @ $70. Vases are @ $100. They also sell candlesticks, enormous bowls, and shallow plate-like bowls. The store near me does not carry any of those items, so I am not how much they would cost.

The Kosta Boda Atoll pieces were inspired by atolls. They say "Atolls are circular coral islands embracing lagoons in tropical seas. By candlelight [they] look like shimmering little atolls adoring the festive dinner table. Each atoll is a uniquely designed piece of traditional Swedish glass handicraft."

edited to add: The prices I listed are in US dollars. I have heard you can get them cheaper in some other countries because they are from Sweden.

I'm always naughty.

I asked Santa to pay our property taxes this year. However, I'll probably just get some coal instead.

Aside from fantasy sparkly bling (a 1.5 perfect asscher bezel/pave set would do just fine!) and peace/health for my family and the world......

A perfect KICK-A$S pair of jeans

This year, I''ve gotten so much more than I deserve. I guess if I were asking for something, it would be the promise that my husband will be safe while he is deployed next year so that I may be blessed to spend more christmases with him in the future.

For my stepmother to treat me and my sister as well as she treats my brother. We''re Chinese American but boys are still favored over girls.

I asked for the Health and Happiness of my family. And a G5 desktop.

I''m certain about receiving the Health and Happiness. I''ll wait and see about the latter.

Hope everyone has a happy holiday...whatever it is!

The chinese culture has always been very strict about this, huh, Cflutist? I''m sorry to hear this...I hope Websailor fills your gaps a thousand fold. Still there''s nothing like being loved by your parents. I will pray for you. Another reason to need that hug smiley for you tonight.

Be sure to post some glamourous photos of your coal and I''ll do the same

I doubt my husband is getting me *anything*. We just spend a fortune on wood floors, kitchen cabinets (these are TEN times more expensive than I''d thought they''d be - what a rip), all new appliances in kitchen plus washer and dryer. . .oh, and more stuff too like carpeting!

I did a bad thing though. . .definetly in the naughty catagory (and another reason why I won''t be getting any xmas gifts). I ordered two necklaces for myself for my birthday. lol My husband told me to pick something out and I snuck two items in while he wasn''t looking. hehehe

I know what I''m getting -- a Chopard Happy Diamonds watch.

This will be my last expensive gift for a while; we''ve just closed on a loft apartment in Manhattan. Enough said.

i asked for a lovely satin and fleece robe from victorias secret that I am getting..
I also asked for a diamond pendant.. which I am NOT getting.

Ama:

Thanks for the thanks. My husband and I have been married for almost 5 years, but I met him when he was a young lieutenant 8 years ago. He has been in the Army for 10 years. This ring was indeed an upgrade. He says that it is for all of the "events" he will miss this next year; such as v-day, my b-day, our 5th wedding anniversary, my sister''s wedding etc, etc. He will be deployed for one year (he leaves next month). I am not angry or depressed about it though. I want him to be safe and come back to me of course; however, I understand his duty and stand behind him 100% in whatever he does. He is an honorable man with such integrity and because of that I have to share him with this country. I am proud of the man that he is and proud of his service...even though it is sometimes difficult, I understand.

I also LOVE Elf! It makes me smile and "smiling''s my favorite"

Brightest Blessings to your and your family this holiday season. May it be filled with joy, laughter and peace.
