I know that this has probably been done before, but I havent seen it here recently so I thought it could be fun.

I''ll start.

I''ve always loved the classic elegance of a solitaire and while I always thought I wanted a six prong setting with a round brilliant, I have fallen in love with OMC''s and OEC''s since finding this site (particulartly those signature OMC''s that GOG has developed...
18.gif
).

That would be my dream ring... a nice GOG OMC in a simple solitaire setting

My dream ring has actually changed since the last time this thread was done, so I''m excited to contribue a new sparkly to the mix!

When taking care of other jewelry pieces at Quest Jewelers, I was struck with the beauty of the Calla Cut collection by Nelson. I tried on a particular sparkly and nearly cried, as Callas are one of my favorite flowers, the flowers I plan on carrying in my wedding, and the flowers carried by my grandmother and my great-grandmother in *their* weddings. The particular setting below caught my eye and I''m in love.

That is a beautiful ring and I love that the name of the collection has such significance for you.

I''ll post mine! It''s from Bluenile... I have a soft spot for them. Anyway, I think it''s one of their fairly new settings. It''s three rows of micropave in white gold. I love it.

To me it''s so modern and feminine. It''s set here with a 1 carat stone. Realistically, this will not be my ring. I will probably get <.5 carat in a simple WG solitaire. But... a girl can dream of an upgrade down the line!

I don''t have a "dream ring" per se. I''ve never even tried one on (

)! But, just about everything on BN makes me go ga-ga.

Identical to the one on my finger!

I love love love this Mark Patterson setting, preferably with a Hearts and Arrows square cushion!

The sappy answer is: Whatever the ring that my boyfriend will put on my finger looks like. (If I didn''t already know what that was going to look like...)

The diamond going into my e-ring is an heirloom. We chose the setting together. So, it is my dream e-ring. The center stone is a .44 RB, and there''s 10 (or 12?) side stones total.

BUT, I would love to have a nice chunky-faceted cushion in a solitaire setting as a RHR.

Cushions make my heart do flips!

I picked out exactly what I wanted, so it is my dream ring.

I picked Tacori 2620 with Pave (platinum). I wanted a squarish diamond, so I will be happy with a Cushion or Asscher (he knows this). I know his budget, so it will likely be ~2ct.

Just describing it I can''t believe I could possibly have what I just described on my finger.

But then again it is fitting since I feel the same way about ending up with someone who such an amazing person and father! I love him and would marry him with any ring, but am thankful beyond words that he would give me my dream ring.

Girlygirl29.

The mounting you picked out I thought only comes in Emerald, Round or Princess settings.

The halo is what gives it the cushion look.

My friend recently was engaged with that ring and that''s what she told me. Therefore she chose a more brilliant round diamond, but the halo gives it a more squared off cushion look..

Maybe?

Yes- you are correct it comes originally made for Enerald, Round, or Princess. However, the Princess setting can accomadate squar(ish) stones like asscher, cushion, and radiant square. The setting will be made for the particular diamond he chooses. I haven''t been part of the process after that intial choice of the setting as this was my first question, since I knew I didn''t want either of the 3. Thanks!

sillyberry- if you took the diamond out of that ring and replaced it with a very deep purple sapphire- it would be my dream ring! Great taste :)

My boyfriend of almost four years and I have the ring, and the stone is currently being set- but I don''t get to see it until he decides to pop the question! The suspense has been really fun, and I can''t wait to see how it comes out.

I love that everyone has such varied taste, it''s neat to get ideas from other people

It''s not just the name of the collection...the side stones and the surprise stones on the sides of the basket are Calla Cut stones. You can only get them from this jeweler...they''re a cross between a RB and a marquise. They look like the top outline of Calla Lilies...hence the name of the cut.

There is significance also in the fact that the Calla Cut is patented and can only be cut by Nelson...significance because both A and I are patent examiners...and we met on the way home from work one day!

My dream ring is a 1ct ideal cut RB. There are two settings that I really love, the classic Tiffany setting like this one:

tiffanyRB1ct.jpg

And this beautiful Lotus setting:

I''m leaning more towards the lotus because it is more delicate and unique.

SparklyRing, I LOVE Sally''s Lotus rings...but would you send a 1ct. diamond all the way to Thailand for her to set? Or would you hope she could source it? Or would you just have someone wherever you are reproduce her work?

I''d just get the setting from Sally and the diamond separately and have a trusted jeweler set it. I would never feel comfortable sending a diamond to Thailand and would also not want to buy one that I can''t see for myself. I''ve thought about having a jeweler reproduce her work, but it''s probably cheaper just to get Sally to do it and send the setting to me.

Sounds like a great plan.

My dream ring is a GOG chunky cushoin (1 - 1.5ct) set in a James Meyer bezeled setting (something set realtively low)

My dream wedding band is a Chris Ploof meteorite ring.

see? Swoon!! (I like antique/unique durable jewellery)

Still undecided about 18k yg or platinum though

I think like YG best for the meteorite ring.

Ladies all of your dream rings are fantastic!

If you have an opportunity to try your settings on, I suggest you do - I had a dream ring for a long long time which had a halo setting. One day I went out shopping with a few PSers and wound up trying on several different rings. Turns out the halo ring fell by the wayside in favor of a three stone ring - something I NEVER thought would happen. Once I saw the three stone on my finger I was hooked. What you like in a photograph may not sit the way you envision on your hand.

In the end I did get my halo as a RH ruby ring (my wedding jewelry actually) - I love it but it pales in comparison to my engagement ring

Oh, I''ve definitely tried my dream ring on! I think I actually tried it on between each other ring just because it was so darn purdy...

Ditto to fuzzers'' dream ring. Although, one row of pave would be fine, as well.

My dream ring is a princess cut (preferably 1/2 or 3/4 carat) with a petite cathedral setting.

Ack!

This question has me rethinking my "dream" ring!!

I love two styles, one, which has had my ring finger ever since I saw one in a Bridal Magazine quite a few years ago is the Tiffany & Co classic solitaire, those prongs are to DIE FOR!! The other, is a Halo''d old cut. Cushion, OEC, OMC, whatever!! This exact thing is why I am having a hard time helping my guy get an idea of what I like!!

20.gif
lol!

I always loved the shape of a cushion cut but love the brilliance and fire from a well cut H &A round. Therefore I would like an ideal RB in a cushion shaped halo.

There is a member here (Lvfdoll) and I LOVE her ring, my favourite on PS.

I would love to try on something like this but have never seen anyting like it here (I''m in Dublin, Ireland)

It sounds TDF! Make sure you post pics when you get it!

Jaylex, I love your ring. Rose gold is so beautiful and what a neat setting...

I''m not sure that have a "dream ring" but when I started looking around for ideas to give my BF, I found this James Allen style I really like
