Hi all, I haven't had anything to post for a long time so I haven't been around. But Pricescopers were absolutely instrumental in guiding my now-husband and I to the perfect engagement ring, so I wouldn't dream of proceeding with my eternity ring without you!

All of the details about the diamond and the ring can be found in this thread, along with pictures and handshots. I am also in the process of trying to find the original pictures so I can try to repost them to this thread. (Any smart people that know how to take a picture from that thread and post it here, please feel free!)

For those reading the thread, our original plan was to get an eternity wedding band. However each of us were experiencing massive layoffs in our industry in 2008 (banking and mortgage) and decided to hold off. Good plan since we both lost our jobs! I married with a simple thin platinum band. Next year is my 10 year anniversary and I want to start designing my anniversary band. Coincidentally, we are going to NY this summer so I will actually have the opportunity to visit some of the jewelers in person.

Because I haven't been around lately, I don't know who are the recommended vendors. Still Mark, Leon, and GOG? Any others? Any specifically recommended for eternity rings?

I am thinking of using French cut diamonds. Thoughts? Something else? What should I budget for it?

Hope to get some advice! Thanks so much :)

Hi, @MaggieB! Allow me to be the first to welcome you back!!! Congratulations on your marriage, and your upcoming celebration of 10 years of happiness with your DH!!

As far as recommended vendors, GOG, LM, and Mark are still on the list. I would also like to make a suggestion, if I may.
It’s wise to try on everything you’re interested in, in person. This helps get a clear idea of size, and number of stones necessary to create the perfect Eternity ring for you. However, may I recommend a genius cutter of diamonds, French Cuts, as well as others, are his specialty: Yoram at GemConcepts, LTD.

He is amazing, and if you’re looking to custom build your ring, Yoram is amazing, extremely reasonable, and a gem to work with!! He doesn’t set his stones, so you’d have to have someone else design, build & set the stones for you, but Yoram’s work is worth it!

Another recommendation is Jonathan at AugustVintage, Inc.:

Jonathan used to be with GOG, and has now branched out on his own, creating his own line of unique, and beautifully cut diamonds!!! He is also phenomenal, and well worth contacting for your diamonds.

Having a clear number of stones, and their exact or near-exact dimensions, as well as your preferences will be greatly helpful to any vendor, so I hope you have fun in your search, and with your “fitting”!!!

Your ring will be beautiful!!! :mrgreen2:

Hi MaggieB. Your engagement ring is beautiful! I have an antique cushion and also a french cut band. I love them together but mine is in a solitaire with no side stones. Your ring has a pave knife edge which means that the height on your band is important because you might not want something too tall next to it. How thick/tall is your plain band? Have you thought about a matching knife edge eternity? Can you try eternities on somewhere so you can see if you like them next to your ring?

Edit - I only ask because differing heights on rings ring worn together bother me, but they may not bother you. My FC band is a channel which is low set.
