Our videographer made us a 30 minute video of our entire wedding day. I had dicussed prior to the wedding that I''d like the raw footage as well, but he is now telling me that he can only supply the tapes (so you need a mini-DV player to play them) and will not burn them on DVDs for me.

I find it strange that I paid this guy for an entire day only to get a 30 minute footage from him. I dont get the point of him being there for the 10+ hours, only to see snippets. What are your videographers giving you?

all day coverage by two ppl, one hour dvd and the raw footage. It was all in the contract. What does your contract say? Sounds to me like after he did the editing he probably erased? I hope that isn''t the case though.

Is your raw footage in DVD format? My contract says I should get all raw footage, but I guess it doesnt exactly specify on DVD. This is what it says:

"all raw footage tapes will be provided to the bride along with a master DVD for making more copies"

What do you think?

I have one disc, but had raw footage and photo montage, and other stuff, like a movie selection on my DVD.

D&T, how long was your raw footage if you don''t mind me asking?

it wasn't very long, about 30-40 minutes.

ETA: my whole DVD was about 2 hours, I had different selection as follows:

its been five years, but it doesn't show whats on the front of my disc, so this is just from memory unless I pop the disc in...lol (not sure of the order)

- photo montage
- ceremony
- raw footage of guest and others before and after ceremony
- edited clips of reception and ceremony
- music video ( to our DVD song Starship different collage thing going ) not sure what to call it...
hope this helps.

ETAA: we only paid for a few hours though, not like yours, so I would hope you get more than a 2hour DVD though. I hope you get your videos straigtened out with him.

We got 5 dvd''s altogether. He was there for most of the day and we got 1.45 hours of footage. he also did a highlights bit at the end when he ran through the day quickly. The music he put with all of the footage was fantastic as well.

*sigh* looks like we got scammed - Kama...

Reading this thread has definitely been helpful. At first, our videographer was just to provide us with unedited video, but FI insisted that he wanted to pay a little extra and get the edited video package. I''m going to send an email to the videographer right now to find out if we still get the un-edited video.
