Since I am having a destination wedding instead of having favors at the wedding itself I will have them in everyone's cabin when they arrive on the ship. Which do you think people will prefer 1) A nice beach bag filled with goodies that they can use on the cruise or 2) A bottle of champange?

There''s PLENTY of alcohol to be had on a cruise. I think the beach bag is cute and personal.

I agree. The beach bag idea is great.

I love the idea of a beach bag, so that got my vote. What are you thinking of putting in it?

Right now I know that we want to put in water bottles with a custom label, dramanine (for seasickness), sunblock, a welcome letter with information about the wedding and cruise, chapstick... and I still need to think of more. I am open to suggestions!

How much were you thinking about spending for each bag? Depending on what all you put in there, it could get really pricey!

Other suggestions: Tums (b/c we all eat too much... ha ha), disposable cameras & a card that asks to send you some pictures from everyone''s vacation, maybe a his & hers magazine, aloe vera gel (for sunburns), tissues for the ceremony, etc.

You could include a cute little poem or something, wrapped up like a scroll with a ribbon, explaining things in the bag:

Welcome to vacation
And our wedding out at sea
We hope you have a blast
Full of timeless memories

Included in this beach bag
Are some things that you may need
To make your cruise a good one
And to put your mind at ease

Sunblock for the rays
And aloe for the red
Dramamine for illness
And tums, if over-fed

A magazine for reading
Some chapstick for your lips
A water bottle keepsake
For your time aboard this ship!

... that was totally off the top of my head. You''re welcome to use it or tweak it or whatever... but I think it would cute and simple.

I really like the beach bag idea! Now I wanna have a wedding cruise! How fun!

Not sure if this helps but this is what we put in our DW welcome bags:

Disposable underwater cameras with googles (for snorkeling)
Crossword and Sudoku puzzle books
First Aid/Hang Over kits (Tylenol, Immodium, Pepto Bismol, Purell Wipes, Band Aids)
Chapstick with sunscreen
Aloe Vera (we didn''t bother with Sunscreen ''cause people tend to remember to bring their own but forget the Aloe.)
Tissues
Packs of candy and gum
Post Cards
Welcome book (with information on the town, resort, place to put guests'' room numbers, etc...)

We also ended up with two different types of beach bags, one type for the females and a more masculine version for the males.

Amanda- that poem is awesome! Thank you. I am totally going to be using it. I read it to my fiance and he is really impressed!

CDNinNYC thanks for all the ideas. Did you give one bag per couple or give a bag to everyone? I am thinking one bag per couple and singles will get their own bag. I am not sure what to do with the single guys though. Where did you get the bags for them?

We did one bag per invite, so we had some couples and some singles. For the single guys, we ended up giving them these bags from Nike. The guys really liked them and they were handy not only for the beach/pool but for day excursions. They are $10 each on the Nike website but you can find them cheaper if you look online.

I LOVE OOT gift bags. It feels more personal than alcohol, and always makes me smile. Like the B&G took time to think about our comfort. Beach bag, sunscreen, water, etc...sounds great.

Love the beach bag idea!
