What happened to Crafted By Infinity's website?

I spoke at length yesterday with the folks at Continental. The website is getting closer and closer to being ready to publish and many wonderful things are happening, More to come in the future, but cats are in the bag and must stay there for a while yet.

I've already got their website "favorited" so I can check back periodically!

Is Continental Diamond in any way related to Continental Buying Group?

This was a very, very old platinum mounting that was brittle. The setting part had a stone in it where whoever did the work used some kind of white gold instead of platinum for the prong work. It was so brittle it was going to be ridiculously cost prohibitive to fix. So, they helped me find a new setting that would complement the shank and look correct for the kind of ring it is. They also did more work on the shank diamond settings, fixing the bezel work.

Hello! Any updates? I'll be in Minneapolis in the near future and wanted to see a CBI diamond in person!

Yes. Our recently cut branded diamonds are at the AGS getting their pedigrees. They will be branded by Continental with a new name, although they are cut to the same standards and by the same team that cut the diamonds you named above.

When will you be coming to Minneapolis? We should have our new production back from AGS with the new brand designation on their girdles and AGS reports in just a few weeks. The new name has been trademarked and we are so excited to finally have that overly long process completed.

I just spoke with Andy at Continental, and he is looking forward to meeting with you when you come.

Just want to say that it is wonderful that the universe aligned in such a way to triumph our beloved Wink and it is sooooo great to have you back.

Yay!!!

@Wink - their branded diamonds won't be CBI per se but rather another name for their company?

The new name for the diamonds will be a reflection of the quality of the diamond's cut for Continental Diamond by the same people who used to cut for the company I used to buy from.

Continental and I agree that there is just too much heart break to continue using the former name. We literally brainstormed and dismissed hundreds of names and then had the final name disqualified as having been used by another company when we had a trade mark attorney do our trade mark search.

The parent company of the small team which cuts these incredible diamonds for us is HUGE. The small team who cut the diamonds I used to sell is now going to survive as a team cutting these incredible diamonds for Continental Diamonds. They are a small division of a HUGE company. Any who do not make the grade, as diamonds can be very much like prima donnas if they do not feel like becoming the way we need them to be to qualify for our brand, will be sold by another division of the larger company that they work for. There are no "almost good enough" diamonds for our new Brand. They are either totally committed to being part of our new Brand, or they are out! Period.

So, short answer: Yes, the diamonds will have a new name, but the quality and precision of the cutting will be the same.

Lab and mined?

Continental will sell both lab and mined. Only the mined will be our branded diamond. Our Lab grown will be sold with GCal 8X reports, so they will b e incredible too.

Great news all around! I'll be in the Twin Cities on 7/23. I'm running on a tight schedule this trip but I hope to have time to stop by if the new cut is out then! Thanks for the update, Wink!

@luvmysparklies - who did this gorgeous setting pls?

Hi @mrs-b -
I bought the ring secondhand back in the late 90s from a private seller (it is a true antique). Continental Diamond did an overhaul of it because the platinum head was so brittle and had been soldered with gold and the bezels needed some work. They were the ones that presented choices for a new head and this one seemed to me, to be the most fitting for the style of ring. They have a great bench, and I love how it turned out!:)

I am not sure if we will have our diamonds back from AGS in time for this trip. It might be better to plan on coming in on your next trip.

Dear @LightBright

Rumor has it that Continental Diamond in Minneapolis and Wink Jones are working towards pooling their resources.

More than this I cannot say, but I think you and many others will find the seemingly interminable wait to be well worth while…

Stay Tuned!

Hello Wink. I bought a diamond pendant from you back in 2014. I sent you an email but never heard from you. If that email address is still good. Please reply to this message. It's very important. Thanks.

When is the diamond listing going to be up on the website at Continental for us to view, still waiting. What is the name of the new diamonds?

Diamonds are in the process of being uploaded these past few days.

I am told that all will be live by next Monday, the 19th of Sept. Of course, I have been around the Internet long enough to know having been told something does not make it so.

Monday is also the day Continental Diamond is scheduled to become an official sponsor of Pricescope.

It has taken years for these past ten months to pass. The work has been exciting and rewarding. The waiting has been agony for all of us.

Finally the I’s are crossed and the T’s are dotted. The fun is about to begin.
