What is this style?

This is my gramma''s original E-Ring and I have always wondered about the style of it...any ideas??

The band portion looks like a 1960''s or 1970''s piece. The band looks "married" to the solitaire portion, like they weren''t made together, but made separately, and they were soddered together.

It looks like the shank (band) of the ring was created with a casting from a hand-carved design. The design would have been carved in jeweler''s wax, and the wax carving used to create the casting mold. I agree with the earlier poster who said that the prong setting was then soldered onto the shank.
