With black stones, luster is very important IMO, and therefore, I love those with metallic or iridescent lusters, like black diamonds (often irradiated though), and black Tahitian pearls (well more of a grey). Some black spinel is now coated to make it look more like the luster of black diamond, so buyer beware.

I know now why you wanted more rose gold with the pink diamond, it's because you already have the classics!


As for the black stones, I love onyx, spinel and diamond.
Spinel and diamond look good with facets or as briollettes, onyx is versatile and can be also carved easily in any form.
