Okay, I need the help of my fellow PSers. I am having a garden wedding next June. I am needing jewelry suggestions for this dress. I am leaning towards a simple string of pearls (there is a small amount of pearl detailing on the flower). What do you all think?

Since the dress is simple, it can probably go with any jewelry. Pearls would be a very classy look.

I really love the bottons down the back. What a lovely dress! It''s true, your dress is so classic that pearls would be stunning, but you could go with anything. What do you have in mind?

I think pearls would be stunning. You definitely can''t go wrong, and you won''t regret it 20 years from now!

I would do 16inch pearls, and studs. No other jewlery. That dress is so simple and sweet looking I think too much would take away from its lines. JMO.

Your dress is SO pretty, it looks perfect on you! I agree w/the others...pearls or diamond studs

Your dress is just lovely & looks fabulous on you! The details are beautiful--the cuff on the top of the dress, the buttons down the back...understated & classic! I think pearl studs & necklace would be perfect!

Thank you all so much for your input...and of course your wonderful compliments on my dress. I think you have all just reinforced my original thought- that pearls would be a very classy and elegant touch to this simple dress. I am just now learning about pearls and was wondering about the length and size. I am glad you suggested 16" Matatora because I was trying to measure where they should fall on me with the dress and I was also thinking that 16" might be best. However, I am only seeing these pictures of pearls on-line and it is hard to tell what size pearls I should wear with that dress. I fear that anything over 7.5 would be too big and take away from the simplicity of the dress, but I really do not know. For cost reasons I was looking at the 7 mm. Do you think that would be about right or should I go smaller or bigger?

Thanks again for your suggestions :) Now that I have picked my dress I am getting very excited about the accessories and hair (which I am thinking of a low bun/chignon for) and such!

Man! I wish I had the body to pull off that dress.

It''s so elegant and sophisticated! Pearls would be lovely or any other jewelry that''s simple. A low bun/chignon would also be beautiful for your hair. Are you going to wear a veil?

Btw, your doggie is such a cutie!

Is that an Angelina dress by any chance? I ask because it looks very similar to my dress. It looks absolutely stunning on you by the way! I think pearls would be classic and lovely!!!

As for the veil, I originally had not planned on wearing one (never thought I was a veil girl), but the more I see them and the more they put them on me in bridal shops, the more I think I do want to wear a veil. I am thinking one that goes to the waistline on that dress (I guess that would be elbow?) worn on the back of my head above my chignon.

~~what do you all think about a veil with that dress? Where should it fall?

Heartprongs~ thanks for your kind words. The dress is actually a Mikaella #1109. It is weird, but the dress looks to me like an entirely different dress on me than on the model in the ad. In fact, I would not have picked this dress based on the ad pic. Thank goodness my BM''s picked it up off the rack and made me try it on! Is there a picture of your dress on here somewhere? I would love to see.

ky6- I think the size of the pearls is not as important.. but if it concerns you, you can always go to any dept store, and try on some pearls! Real or not, you will get an idea of the size and length. Of course, you would be trying them w/o the dress, but if you find some cheap fakes you can always just buy them for fun and then give them to your FG or something.

you can never go wrong with pearls. FH says they are very sexy!

LOVE your dress- it is absolutely gorgeous! I think pearls are the absolute best way to go with this dress. I would wear a corset/strapless top and go try them on at the dept. store. Jewelry is one of those things that you have to try on to get a feel for what you like. What are your accent colors for bridesmaids/flowers? If you are going all white, then white pearls- but other options are pink pearls or tahitians, my fav. Just depends on what your whole decor looks like. Since you are wearing your hair in a low bun- you might want to think about a longer veil that rests right at the base of your neck above the bun. Good luck!

Hmm the MM is a very personal choice. I wear 8mm pearls all the time. I think they look perfect with a button down and slacks. But I am a square and I never in trendy type things. I would vote for higher quality pearls over larger ones for sure though. I know how expesive they can be but you will get a life of wear of of them. However I do realize that not everyone would wear pearls on a regular basis. There are other options that are lovely and not so budget breaking.

Honora Cultured Freshwater Pearl 7mm Oval 16" Strand, 14K Introductory Price $87.00

A triple strand like this one would not be as practical for daily wear but could be stunning for more dressy occasions.
Honora Sterling Triple Cultured FreshwaterPearlOval Strand QVC Price $74.75
Whatever size you determine fits your needs best I would try and keep the earring close to the same size, it looks better that way.

oops wrong thread...sorry!
