For my bridesmaids I am thinking of bezeling a hot pink stone to make a necklace. I have no idea what stones come in hot pink. Suggestions?

ETA-This is the hot pink the flowers will be.

Mahenge spinel has the hot pink color, but the price has gone way up these days...

Thanks, I am for sure hoping for the low end of the spectrum as I have 4 necklaces to make. Maybe if I could find them quite small I could do a by the yard type necklace for them. Not sure if that would be more or less money. Their dresses are short and black, their shoes silver and their flowers hot pink. I guess I could do an onyx necklace in silver too if hot pink stones are too much.

If you want to keep the budget down, you could look into irradiated tourmaline or BE treated sapphire.

There's also... I feel sick mentioning it... mystic topaz... don't hate me... please don't... it was only a suggestion... forgive me??

lol

This one is actually kind of nice though... and the price is very decent...

Some of my pink tourmalines are hot pink/fuchsia.

How about Pink topaz?

I've seen some hot pink rubellites out of Bob Kast lately . . . just a thought.

I’ve seen Bob Kast cut some very hot pink tourmaline which he calls “passion pink” into rounds and generally, his pricing is inexpensive.

Thanks ladies! I will get in touch with Bob Kast. I don't really have a budget yet, just trying to get ideas on prices. I would think ball park I would like to spend no more than 50 each.

Just for clarification, $50/stone or $50/necklace?

Have you thought about etsy? You might be able to do an alchemy request and they might give you a lower price due to the volume you'd be giving them.

From what I've seen, Bob's rubellites and blazing pink tourms run about $60 and up for a 6mm stone, depending on clarity, cutting, and color. Also, keep in mind that it usually costs more to bezel-set rather than prong-set. I think you have a great idea for your bridesmaids though, and if I were a bridesmaid, I would love to have a necklace in that color!

I think the cheapest way to do a necklace is to prong-set the stone in a basket, and then have the chain soldered directly to the basket. The stone will be stationary on the chain, but I think the no-bale look is very classy. Sort of like freke's peridot necklace ( viewtopic.php?t=142108 ) and my apatite ( colored-stones/pink-tourmaline-pendant-from-nyc-plus-apatite-t146635.html ).

Thank you both those are great ideas! I hadn't thought of alchemy or the prong set but I think they are both great ideas!
