I saw this white gold Chopard ring on eBay and love it. I''m just not sure what kind of stone it is.

I''ve looked for the ring online, and all descriptions just read "blue gemstone".

Any ideas?

Thanks,
-Tina

I would guess topaz as well.

It looks like topaz to me.. but being Chopard, it could be a rose cut aquamarine hm?
Yeah I was leaning towards aquamarine as well. Maybe too light for topaz?

Looking carefully at the setting work of the ring. I''d be suspicious that it is an authentic Chopard piece.

The workmanship of a Chopard piece of jewelry is generally done a bit "neater" than the setting work in the photos.

As for the description of "blue gemstone", I think that without someone credible identifying what the stone actually is, is to assume it is just a "blue gemstone". That can vary from glass to synthetic spinel, or whatever.

Ask the ebay seller, what the stone is and what treatments if any it has had, and see if you get a response

It looks like Topaz but the sheen on it suggests possibly infusion for color enhancement.

Good Lord, Opaque, that is a seriously good looking black opal in your avatar. I love the pattern, and the intensity of the play-of-color.

Thanks. I got a few of these from a friend down under and his wife made them into jewelry for my daughter. This one I held on to.
