I ordered my dress last Friday - YAY! - and I bought my shoes the week before that, so of course I've decided to focus on my wedding jewelery

which includes something for my hair... I'm planning to wear my hair at least half back if not in some kind of fancy ponytail to the side or something..... and I'd really love to find a nice sparkly clip to play it up.

I like the idea of this one if I wear my hair half back, but I would have it flipped around so that the flatish part is on top... if I decided to have some sort of veil, I would like to have it come down from there if possible.

But then, I am an absolutely star freak, my mom keeps asking how we're going to incorporate stars into the wedding decor because it just wouldn't be right if they weren't included somehow. lol. Well FI and I ordered our cake last Saturday, and while looking through their pictures for final inspiration, we came across two cakes that had stars as the toppers, very pretty, very ME, and well, just perfect really. FI was fine with it because he too thinks it'd be a bit odd if there weren't stars SOMEWHERE in the wedding for me. It's hard to explain what it looks like, but it really was just lovely and I'm so excited about it! But ok, I got off track..

The point is, I'd really like to find some kind of star clip for my hair, but I don't want it to stick out as childish...... and I found this star flower barrette which is starish, and is rather lovely I think. But the problem with both of these clips is that they are silver colored, which I worry will look silly with my dress.

Heres the link with pictures of my dress for reference - Maggie Soterro's Jessica. It's the sample from the store, but the same coloring that I ordered.

Do I have to wear gold or copper colored jewelery with my dress? Will silver or white gold look off? It seems all of the jewelery I've found have been white colored metal, and I just don't know. I was thinking about wearing some kind of dangly earrings and a bracelet... but my mind can be changed!

But so what do you think? Honestly, can I get away with white colored metals for the wedding jewelery, or should I stick to golds and coppery colors?

ETA: Now that I've actually ordered my dress I'm having second thoughts on the coloring I ordered, I think I should've gone with all diamond white! What did I do!?!

I definitely don''t think you made a mistake on the dress color!! I really like the champagne accent. I definitely think you can do silver/white gold jewelry, I actually think it will look better than yellow gold would. There is already that sparkly broach on the front, and it looks like it is white metal rather than yellow. I think yellow metal would actually look a little TOO yellow next to the champagne. So, my vote is for silver/white gold jewelry!

ditto. I think the white metal jewelry in your hair would look amazing. I like the star flowers too. If your hair was blond, i think the yellow gold might look better, but since you have darker hair it''s going to look gorgeous.

Yep! I agree with the others. I love your dress and the tux looks great! I love the champagne vest/tie!

Thanks guys. What makes me even worse in second guessing the color is that when I told my mom how I was feeling instead of telling me that the color I ordered looked great and I should keep it, she told me I could call the bridal shop and see if I still had any time to change it!! I said so..... I looked bad in that color? lol Not entirely fair to her, but I guess I was calling her and letting her know how I was feeling because I was thinking she would reinforce my first decision, and when she didn''t it got me all freaked out!

As far as the brooch on the front, it''s not really a brooch, it''s sewn onto the dress... if you look at the picture that shows the back of the dress, you can see a little better what it looks like in person, though the front detailing does seem like it COULD be a white metal if it were not sewn on... I just worry too much! It doesn''t help that I''m currently looking for a job so when I''m not searching I''m sitting here on PS looking and wondering and worrying, I just have too much time on my hands!

I think my problem is I keep finding jewelery thats the style I want/like and it all seems to be in white metals like these earrings, and I just can''t talk myself into thinking it''ll look right.

I totally see though what you mean about yellow gold looking too yellow though, and I agree. The underlay of the dress is a light gold color, and although I keep calling the sash champagne, apparently it''s considered gold. These colors are confusing the heck outta me!

Maybe a rose gold color?

Or maybe I should stop thinking about it, I have time to find it... I guess I just wanted something new to focus on and the other details I need to figure out aren''t as fun to look at... even though they should be done first. lol

Thanks you guys, I''m sorry I''m all over the place!

I love what you have chosen thus far. In fact, I kinda want those earrings. You might need to actually buy some different looks (rose gold, silvers, maybe even some yellow gold) and really try them on with the dress to really decide. I think that''s the only way that you will be certain. I really think that a rose gold earring would be fantastic with the dress and your hair color.

Aren't those earrings just lovely? I want them even if they don't match, but I know I'd never wear them. I've been trying to find something at least similar in a rose gold color and haven't had any luck

Agree completley with Kara and other posters. 1) your dress is lovely and the champagne sash is a great color - so classic and pretty! 2) I agree that not only can you wear silver/white gold, but that it will look better than yellow gold. I think some kind of white gold/silver with diamonds that will pick up some of the sparkle on your dress :)

Don''t worry - you made a great choice!!

Thanks Future Mrs. Polka Dot! :)
