What shape is this stone? Would you recut it?

I'm back from a long vacation and am going through heavy jet lag now, my head is not functioning well with work, so I'm on gemstone duty! :p
This is a stone I bought during my vacation, it's a Vietnam lavender pink spinel. Remember I just bought a 3.9ct pear and I thought that's the best I've seen? This one beats it on many levels, carat weight is 5.6ct, color is even more intense.
However I am not sure whether I should recut it, into a normal pear or an oval? I believe it would be still above 5ct after recut. It's now a round tip pear, and I am struggling without any ideas for setting...What would you do?

Just some awful quality photos for now.

I'd call it a pointy oval, but I know nothing. I like it because it's different from the norm.

a pregnant pear. I'd only redo if I knew I was going to set it. Hate to even think about the stuff I got sitting around right now (its a lot...:oops2:)

It's terrible! Send it to me and I'll throw it away for you.

Melon seed shape?
That's lovely!

I have honestly never seen a cut like that. The stone is beautiful though. I just love the color!

I have seen that shape before. The cutter referred to it as an egg shape which is exactly what it looks like. If it was mine and I was planning on setting it, I'd have it cut into a pear but I'm also of the mindset that a person can never have too many pear shaped gems :)). I see a bit of window so maybe a cut and a tweak would close it up. It is a lovely colour! You have a gorgeous collection.

Thanks for all the creative names :)

If to keep it as is, do you have any setting ideas? Please throw it here!
