Ok so the dj i want is pretty much a friend of the family. and i spoke with him a couple of months ago and we were supposed to set up a date to meet. and since then his baby was sick, which was completely understandable not to hear from him, ive tried to contact him several times by phone and thru his website.i understand family obligations, however he does have people that work for him. i havent heard anything.

How long should i wait before i find an alternate dj.. my wedding is in march

I dont know what to do

I would not use a "friend" for your wedding DJ. It sounds like he''s not taking your business seriously, perhaps because you are a friend and/or are not going to be a paying customer? I''m guessing of course but...I''d look for someone more reliable. When someone owns their own business, not returning calls is not a good sign to me, as a consumer.

I might try one more time and then cut my losses and find someone else. Yes, there are mitigating circumstances and you are aware of that...I just wouldn''t want to deal with the added stress and uncertainty of feeling like you''re bothering him. Since there are employees and they aren''t getting back to you either - I sort of feel like vendors are most receptive when they''re vying for your business. If there''s no contact when they''re trying to get the business, will it be worse when they already have it?

I would try to contact one more time... if you get a hold of them tell them point blank that you are concerned and would really rather hire a stranger and just have them attend as a guest (assuming that you would want them to) if you get any sort of wonky ''vibe.''
