Hello All:

I need some opinions, I tried on the Tiffany Legacy ring (a good replica) and it''s absolutely gorgeous!!! but too big for my hand. The center diamond was about 1.72 and I felt like Ivana Trump! LOL I have a 4.5 ring size and short fingers. I''ve been looking at Lovey''s beautiful ring which looks alot like my favorite "Daniel K" setting. I was wondering if a 1ct. Asscher would look good with the Legacy or Daniel K setting? Does the 1 ct. size show off the beauty of the Asscher cut? Will the setting overpower it? All opinions are greatly appreicated.

Thanks!

Hi!

I tried on the Tiffany Legacy ring as well, and agree with you on the size. I have a size 5 ring size and short fingers too! I would say anywhere between 1 and 1.25 carat in that setting will look just perfect on your tiny hand. I tried on a 1.14ct and it looked great. I tried on a 2ct and it looked ridiculous. Keep in mind that it was the cushion cut, not the asscher. Tiffany only offers this ring in the cushion cut. I was really sure that asscher cut was the way I wanted to go until I actually saw one in person. It just doesn''t have the same brilliance as the cushion, in my opinion...and it has a much squarer shape. This is only my opinion, and you should definitely look at both stones to see what you prefer.

Hope this helps!

I have a .87 ct Asscher cut diamond ring in a Carl Blackburn platinum setting with .45 ct. bead set diamonds throughout the setting. I get more compliments on the beauty and uniqueness of this setting as well as the beauty of my asscher diamond. So yes, I would say the beauty will be apparant in a 1 ct asscher cut diamond

KBling, Thanks, I asked the jeweler if they had anything smaller and they showed me a Bezel set 1.37 Assher and I said Jeez that''s kinda chunky too! This info really helps.

JessesGrl, I would love to see pics of your ring if you have them, it sounds gorgeous!!

Oops I did it twice! lol

The top one is Lovey's Leon Mege setting that looks alot like the Daniel K I love. And the bottom one is the Tiffany Legacy.

Luvthatsparkle: HOLY MACARONI!!!! Is that your ring??? Nice

Nope I found those on pricescope! I WISH!!!!

A "framed" setting would look great with a 1 carat square - I bet

(to the best of my drawing ability - these two bring down to scale the rings above, to represent a ~6mm square Ec. on size 4.5 finger

The ring is awessome !

you know, i am having a really hard time deciding what size stone to go with as well. my ring size is 3.5, and i have really tiny hands. i am going to get a cushion cut, most likely with some sort of split shank leon mege setting. i was thinking that i would shoot for 2 ct, as i don''t want to upgrade. but that may just look silly on my hand... i think we may have to head out to a couple stores this weekend and check out some more sizes, b/c i think we may start looking for THE STONE soon!

jessesgrl (now i''ve got rick springfield in my mind!) your ring is absolutely STUNNING!! i looooove it!

the size is perfect!!

Valeria, Thanks those pics really give me some perspective........I think that Legacy setting is going to make any stone look HUGE! Even looking at your pics it still looks kinda big to me, which isn''t bad per say, I just want the proportions to look right so I can feel comfortable wearing it everyday.

Jessesgrl your ring is Splendifferous!!! (Splendid, Terrific and Fabulous!) Thanks for sharing the pics!!! And do be excited it was worth the wait!!

One more question

Are Asscher cut''s more expensive than Cushion cut''s? (the way RB''s have a premium) All the research I''ve been doing suggests that they are. And could you get away with a lower quality cushion over a lower quality Asscher (G-H color, SI1 or SI2)? I still have a budget to consider.

That''s two questions

JessesGrl, I LOVE your ring, it is soooooo pretty!!! More pictures pleeessseeee!!!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I should have my new e-ring tomorrow. It is a 1.38 asscher

https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-e-ring.25213/=

this shows the original setting. My new setting is a combination of the rings shown here. I have always loved the Daniel K setting, but didn't want to put my beautiful asscher in a bezel, so it is going to be pronged set. The jeweler said the prongs will be sword edged?? I am assuming it will look like Lovey's from the top, except it won't have the claw prong. It also won't have the three sided diamonds, it will be more like the legacy on the sides, without the the diamond underneath.

My finger is a 4.5 and I tried on the legacy, 1.5 carat, and didn't think it looked to big.
I really think a 1ct asscher in the box setting would be perfect!!! I don't know about pricing but one thing I do know is with an asscher you really need to have great color and clarity, because you can see inclusions much more because of the way it is cut.

Your ring is beautiful as well....I love baguettes myself and Asschers are my favorite!! Can''t wait to see it in it''s new setting!

Mommy2nk, I read your link! HA! you''re just like me!!! LOL Thanks for your input and I can''t wait to see your ring! I''m straddling the fence right now between Cushion and Asscher. I know they''re different looks but I love antiques so I feel equally about them. My RHR is a beautiful combination of bead set diamonds and a center sapphire from the 1930''s/40''s my favorite era for everything!!, delicate and beautiful, It''s my inspiration for my engagment ring.

I must admit this is alot of fun and I feel incredibly creative!

I actually am not a fan of the Tiffany Legacy, I think it's too heavy and bulky looking on the hand....however I really adore Lovey's ring which I think is a perfect way to wear that style but have it look delicate rather than overwhelming. I think a 1c would look fabulous in the style of Lovey's ring...isn't that around what the size of stone she has in there?

But of course it's a preference thing! Hard to really say what YOU are going to love, yanno!

if i remember correctly (?), lovey''s is 1.5 ct

Lovey''s ring does have a 1.5ct. Asscher. And you have a point Mara, while I like the style of the Legacy wearing it everyday is a different story. Luckily with great designers like Leon Mege you can design your very own fushion, 1 part Legacy, 1 part Daniel K. I tried on the Daniel K (for the second time) and realized it''s nice but I''m not a fan of Mirco Pave. Which is great!!! That ring comes with a whopping $25,000.00 price tag
14.gif
ewwww! lol I''m doing my best to make this project affordable and I''m failing miserably. Hold on while I laugh hartily at myself!!! LOL jeez.

You should go to the first page of show me the ring...there''s a beautiul Asscher posted! I have a small finger too 3.75 and I''m looking into Asscher rings. I think especially for ones with a pave'' band around the center stone I''d keep it around 1.25 carats. If you were going with the Union Square setting I think a larger stone would work.

I''m loving the Union Square setting and I think I''d like to keep the center stone around a carat.
