Hey everyone, this is my first thread in Coloured Stones, yay!
As I have a newly acquired diamond ering, I have one pretty 18k rose gold mount that is looking empty and lonely from my trade-in..
There are pics here for reference when she had a diamond in https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-poh-rhr-more-pics.83238/

As its a RHR, I think it will be fabulous with a coloured stone, however I have zilch experience in this area. I am thinking sapphire, as it will need to be hard enough for everyday wear, but would really love some suggestions.

I like citrus colours, really dark purple-pinks, light greens or acquas. Not really a fan of the dark blue colours.
Open to any advice of what to get, and some input on what it might cost me? (The ring fits a stone ~0.6-0/7ct and will need to be a square shape).

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

ETA: I love Shimmers' garnet and also Stacy's spinel. Any colour like these would be awesome. My birth stone is ruby but I'm not that fond..

If you're going to wear it 24/7 then you should probably stick with sapphires. If it'll be more of a "put on when you leave the house and remove when you get home" type of ring then there are lots of options. Citrus colors: yellow sapphires, citrine, peridot, Mali garnets, chrysoberyls, spessartites. Dark purple-pinks: sapphires, spinel, rhodolite garnets. Light green/aqua: aquamarine or green beryl, mint garnets, sapphires.

I'm not sure I'd necessarily buy from them but Multicolour is a great place to search for stones by color.

Also, it's best to know the mm size of stone needed rather that carat weight since a .6 carat gemstone will probably be a different size than a .6 carat diamond.

I love rose gold! I like pale blues and violets in rose gold a lot. Something red would be pretty too! Sapphires come in every color so if it''s a sapphire your after you shouldn''t have a problem. Garnets are a good choice too and they are durable and come in every color except blue (although I''ve heard a few people say they have seen bluish stones).

Thankyou both for your responses, I will look more and decide what I really want.
