Hello Pricescopers

I''m looking for suggestions to have a pear shaped diamond reset. I would like to make it into a necklace but don''t want just a solitaire pendant. The pear is about 1.25 carat. I also have a round 1/2 carat that I don''t wear anymore, I could put that with it. (But I don''t have to) I would like to make something formal out of it to wear at my upcoming wedding. My engagement ring (which I haven''t seen) is a cushion cut diamond and is supposed to be antique-looking.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Maggie,

How fun! My immediate thought went to this. Just devine. After the shot on the first page, there''s one on the 3rd page, and then there are many starting on page 4, if you just wanted to sift through. I love this necklace, and think it would blend well with your Ering maybe?

Holy cow Ellen. That was my first time seeing that. WOW.

And I agree that a setting with the pear below and the round above - either touching the pear, or not - would look SO classy.

Isn''t is just gorgeous?? *sigh*

So I used paint and pasted pictures together. Whatcha think?

Oohh nebe I like. I originally pictured it the other way - pear point facing up, round touching the point - but this looks nice too. :)

That necklace design is beautiful!! Maybe designing (and making?) jewellery is in your future.

Ellen- That IS a gorgeous necklace. LOTS and LOTS of diamonds though. Any idea what it would cost? I still have a wedding to pay for unfortunately! Or, I could just skip the whole wedding thing and just buy jewelry!

Nebe - Beautiful job! Do you design your own jewelry?

I love both of your suggestions, but I''m looking for something kind of along the lines of Beaudry''s necklaces. Only not for tens of thousands of dollars

Thank you both ladies! I really wish I could. I would love and adore it so much. Unfortunately I need "a real career" to finance my jewelry obesession

MaggieB, more what you pictured? Maybe a nice halo around each with a teeny pave jump loop would be very pretty that way!

I like that one nebe!

I love the Ellen and Nebe suggestions. They look great.

I''m a bit late to this thread but I wanted to post this pic I saved a while ago. I think it would be fabulous with a pear instead of an oval.

Ooh, that is gorgeous! I should do something like that with my pear!

Beautiful necklace, Irish Breakfast:)

(Now there''s something you don''t say every day)

Wouldn''t it be a great way to use all the spare diamonds that seem to sit in disliked settings in your jewelry box? I have a few that I could use to make something like this. The thought has crossed my mind more than once! If anyone goes for it, I''d love to see pics. I think it would be fab with a colored gemstone in that setting too. Can you imagine it with a sapphire or a tsavorite? Oh yeah!

Funnily enough, I don''t seem to have any of those. Please feel free to take photos and show off what you have!

Whatever you decide to do with the pear and round it will be beautiful!
