A 3-ct spinel. I really don't know. I seldom change rings. Maybe another pendant on pearls? Or something like a bracelet on twisted keshi strands? Or recut two smaller spinels and make a spinel ring? It is an evening photo. The kid reflects my perplexion. 20180124_214248.jpg

Oh, forgot to add. I recut two old pink spinels once bought from Tan. So there are more options. If I get the third one, I could make an antique-style pendant, three dangling off the larger one. Bad lightning but you get the idea20180125_164139.jpg 20180125_164155.jpg

Don't recut! It's getting harder to find 3 carat up spinels with nice color (not to mention price hikes). I'd set it in a pendant or brooch or a convertible pendant to brooch. It would be good setting it in a " diamond/kite shape" orientation with a bit of a chain (or not depending on you preference) dangling a rainbow Edison or a pinkish/reddish Fiji Pearl. :)

It's so hard, especially since you already have so many beautiful pieces.

Seaglow, there were times when spinels did not cost much but were of "native" cut. These spinels could be recut, just because they were cheap. Some probably need to be recut, even for a bracelet, to match in shape. I wish I did not sell some! Who knew that spinels would become so popular.
