Somebody's having fun. I expect it'll evolve into something else before it's done.

I can't keep up. Life is already too stressful. Looking for the right diamond almost killed me. Now this????

I like the idea of having a mascot and slogan telling people to wise up and stop going through the sh*t diamonds that are out there (because they don't have the right knowledge), but I think the little guy should be on the right side of the banner. Not only will it balance things out a little bit better, it won't take away from the Pricescope logo.

I enjoy any kind of whimsy...
Leonid, I like it!

Leonid-

I like it....instead of dealing with all of the recycled garbage information out there...come to pricescope and U can Inform yourself 'In forUms' from Pricescope.

It's cute, but it's just a little too belligerent for my tastes. I think if we're right we don't need to shout it.

leonid,

now i feel bad! i'm sorry, i really didn't mean to make fun of our little coon friend. i think he's very cute. it just took me a minute to realize what was going on.

for the new pricescope mascot!

i think we should call him ROCKY the raccoon! now that's appropriate!

Sorry...this is kind of how I feel... Pricescope is so clean and elegant...do we really need a little smiling rodent?

I'm not good with change...

Let's keep the cute, furry rodent. If we vote him out (too much reality TV for me!) I'm worried about what Leonid could do with "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds!"

Maybe we could incorporate reena’s mischievous little Velter as a diamond-sniffing hound. He could have a stage name – “Stoner.”

I apologize, Leonid. They are not a member of the order Rodentia.

However, my personal connotation of "racoon" is that of the common rodent given their similarities:

Order Rodentia: [n] small gnawing animals: porcupines; rats; mice; squirrels; marmots; beavers; gophers; voles; hamsters; guinea pigs; agoutis

YUCK.

However, it appears I have been voted off the island anyway...me and my Dictionary.

Hi Leonid

It's cute and fun for a day but from a marketing POV, I don't like it.

-way too busy with three competing ideas: diamond in the web, coon in recycle bin, PS name. nothing is tied together

- coon image is too colorful vs the rest of your banner

- blocks the great brand name "pricescope"

I don't have any ideas but try to key off the name "Pricescope" It's a memorable brand name and your site has a classier feel than the other sites I've been too.

It would be great if only your home page articulated what you are trying to say - abandon garbage and inform yourself. That's where newbies first go. Maybe you could emphasize three things to the newbie. Great knowledge store (tutuorial); best tools for making a smart decision (HCA, etc); Forums for learning and advice. The home page doesn't help the newbie start - too many equal options.

please don't kick me off the forum/idealbb/images/smilies/21.gif

I don't know......I think the recycling bin is sort of a stretch, and in my neck of the woods the raccoons are not well loved. They eat the cats' food, and dump over the trash. Not a good connotation to me. I think the peeling Pricscope banner is well done, but you are covering up the Pricescope name, which is a major NO NO in the marketing/branding world. I'd lower that highest peel so that it doesn't obstruct it. (aren't you glad you didn't ask Leonid?

i will SO volunteer the velter to be the pricescope mascot. and don't forget, he has puppy bling!

I kind of like choice #2.

I don't know if I'm sold on the racoon. I just can't make the connection in my head.

oh, like the forum romanum! i get it. not bad.

BUT, if you have to have an icon, i would vote for just the little coon, plain (ie no recycling bin), but to the right of the "pricescope" script (not crawling out from beneath it). it's cute and clever (if somewhat esoteric), but doesn't detract from the logo.

I like # 2 better, it's a good analogy, but I still wouldn't obscure the Pricescope logo. Also, if you REALLY want to know, I would make it InForum Yourself, rather than InforUm Yourself. (I don't get the cap U -- sometimes I'm dense about these things.

Et tu, Brute?

I love the forum!

inforUm - the U is capitalized because it should read 'inform' yourself

i like the roman columns w the INFORuM yourself logo, as others have said, a bit more off to the side, so as not to block the Pricescope name...
