Here is our pit-X. Very rude outside the house (to people, cats, dogs), lapdog inside. He was given up 3 times by different owners before the age of 3.He is better now, though walking him is still a pain.

you guys have the cutest dogs & cats..awww..

i have always wanted a dog, but my parents wouldn't let me get one..
now i live with my boyfriend, but he's terribly allergic to both cats AND dogs!! what's a girl to do...i've heard of "hypoallergenic" dogs, but i dunno how much truth there is in that.

and yes, i want one of those tiny dogs that i can carry around in a designer bag!! :P

nicrez, your story about your mischievous "nephew" was too funny!

This is my little Noel. She is 5 pounds and we love her! She fits in a nice bag to be carried around town! Along with diamonds, she is a girl's best friend.

Leonid, kudos to you for giving this guy a chance, making an effort to understand him, and having the patience to work with him through his issues. My mom adopted a mutt who had been returned 3X (that's him with his soccer ball toy--another cream puff)...now he is a big, fat baby.

I had better not show my 10 year old son these pictures...he begs us for a dog almost daily.....he has a big fish tank...here is a couple years back with the fish tank.

Denise brings Babie Gurl to work once a week as a morale booster - she just sits quitely all day. I bring my son to work after school so he can "take care" of Babie Gurl

Our two silkies, Miss Ally Wags and Rocky. They are actually Yorkies but bigger. She's the boss!

Fish are great too Lesley. Your boy is a cutie!

I absolutely adore dogs! Now I am really wanting one even more after all the beautiful pictures. Until that day comes, we live vicariously through neighbors dogs and my parents Beagle, Molly.

Hence, your original avatar?

Leonid, your dog is cute, but I think you picked a picture where he's more ferocious looking...I bet he's a great big sweetie! But he's definately a beautiful dog!!!

Leslie, your son is such a cutie pie! Such a sweet looking boy!!!

And HeyJud, I LOVE SILKY TERRIERS!!! Your little babies look so cute I could just steal them right out of the picture!!!

I WANT A DOGGIE!!!!

Great pictures! Everyone's pets are just so adorable! I have 2 dachshunds and 2 Orange Tabby Cats. A pic of one of my doggies is below. Actually, a few years back my sister had to make a website for one of her classes, and it is full of pics of my pets!

Feel free to check it out: http://www.longlittledoggies.com

It's rather silly, but I enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing pics everyone.

No small yappy dogs here! Here's my guy as a pup. I would insert happy instead of yappy. He's always smiling!

Here's my gal. She came from Standard Schnauzer rescue. I am allergic to dogs. While some people can be allergic to SS's, they are considered "hypo-allergenic" as they do not have high levels of dander (what most people are allergic to). None of my minis nor my standards have ever given me allergy trouble.

Hounds are the worst. When I volunteered at the kennel, I always came home sneezing when we had hounds we safe-housed.

This is the one that needs therapy. The first pic is the one that is a "Therapy Dog".

I had to post once I saw F&I's schnauzers... Here's Minnie, the super-schnoodle (miniature schnauzer/poodle mix) rescued from the shelter in 1989. She's about 15 1/2 now, and she's spoiled rotten! Any of my friends who are allergic to dogs do not have a problem with her.

fire & ice - what a pretty coat your schnauzer has..

yes, i've heard schnauzers are one of the hypoallergenic dogs- Along with poodles, siberian huskies, maltese.

angela - what a cute schnoodle! how big is she? i saw a picture of a schnoodle puppy once and fell in love!

I guess we'll just have to "test" out the various breeds to see if my boyfriend can tolerate any of them without sneezing his head off.

And because we can't have a furry pet (yet..),

here is our fish baby. We've had her for a little over a year now. We affectionately call her our "green monster"

I've never heard that Siberians or Maltese are non-allergic. Schnauzers, poodles (I guess schnoodles would be double hypoallergenic
9.gif
Cute pup, Angela!), and many terriers possess little or no dander. Your vet could supply you with a more complete list.

Here is our rescue dog, Roxy. She's about 10 months old now, and still very cute. She has heath problems (neurological-stage distemper / seizures) which makes for a lot of work, but were so grateful we found her, and vice versa, b/c no one could love her more or care for her better than us.

kpebbles - Minnie ranges from 17-19lbs (she gains a couple of lbs. in the winter just like her mommy
9.gif
) - but she's a stocky little girl. Her shoulder is about 9-10 inches from the ground. I forget how small she is until I see her next to bigger dogs - she has a HUGE personality.

I've also heard that the Bichon Frise is supposed to be hypo-allergenic. There's a family in my neighborhood that has one and their son is allergic to other dogs but doesn't have a problem with their little "Cookie" (who looks like a puffy snowball!)

What an adorable puppy! I have only met one labradoodle, but he was brown, and not nearly as cute as that one!

Although I'd love to have 2 dogs, Minnie won't have any of that. We babysat for my brother's dog, a mini pinscher - Matilda (I think she weighs all of 7lbs!), and Minnie hates having to share her space. I do have 3 cats as well, but she doesn't seem to mind them as much - they're not as hyper!
1.gif

I'll have to post a picture of her too - she's adorable. Have to wait until I get home though, no pics on this computer.

I just love all the pics of everyones pets! Every puc I was like aww... awww.... Hey InnerKitten I had a blind kitty at one time too.. poor little guy. He did not live very long due to other medical problems. I think he was 3 when he passed. He got around ok though. Love that little guy that peed on the desk lol what a face! My dream dog is a Yorkie. We are only allowed cats in our complex but as soon as we buy a house I am getting a dog for sure. I love little dogs. Little dogs and big rocks! lol Maybe it is a girl thing. Here is my baby Mr. Davis. My fiance named him after the owner of his favorite football team the Oakland Raiders. I did not like it at first but it stuck and it suits him. We call him Mr. D.

I can't resist attaching pictures of my dachshunds - aren't they wonderful - ridiculous really,my first post on my dogs rather than on my need for diamond reassurance! That will come when I have sorted out my setting...............

hee hee I love their little legs. I was looking at one in the pet store at the mall the other day. So cute!

Elmview, what adorable doggies! They look very different from my two dachshunds. Isn't it interesting how many varieties they come in? You wouldn't expect so. Thanks for sharing!

I just love all these wonderful dogs!

And Leslie's son is quite a cutie!!!

This is a great thread!

LadyJ, I love your cat pic. I too am a little dog fan, especially pomeranians for some reason. But I love all dogs and all types of animals. Years ago I was a volunteer at the SF Zoo and now I foster for the SPCA .

My "sister", Sweet Pea!
9.gif

About 1 1/2 yrs ago, my mum was walking back from the market when this cat, who was a kitten then, started following her. She was a scruffy, scrawny little thing back then with digestion problems.
14.gif

When my mum took her in, I was so anti-cats, from a childhood nightmare cat that'd scratch and attack me everytime I visited my grandma. Now, she's got me wrapped around her little paw; playing with her, carrying her (like how one would carry a baby), feeding her and laughing at her human-like expressions and antics!
naughty.gif

She especially loves playing with plastic bags, goes into fits of ecstacy when she hears one, and that's a part of one in the first pic of her.

Hence, your original avatar?

Actually, I picked that avatar earlier. Then we've rescued Sharik from a shelter... We call him Sharik, same as hero of "Heart of a Dog".

hmmm...So would you say Sharik has had human parts put into him by any Russian guy you know...He's a cutie, please post more pictures!!! I really like him!!!
love.gif

I am so happy to see so many dog and cat lovers !!! This is fabo. Soo many cuties

This is another pix of Babie Gurl after a long day @ work. I take her everywhere I go. They love her @ Home Depot. I sometimes take her into Wally World. A few times I got caught and had to leave the store. Then when I go in front of the store w/ her I cause a commotion because people want to pet her and take her home. I got her from a rich rich rich lady in South Florida. She has diamonds on every finger. When she's not out shopping for more diamonds or getting her nails done, she rescues Pomeranians from breeders. I actually didn't think I could keep her because I am allergic to dogs and cats. But, no...no allergies. I also have a Toy poodle...his name is Snowy and I also have a Lab/Chow mix named Maximillian Maxximus. Max is 5 months old and is now a big beast...but he's so cute. Max is a real dog unlike the other two fake ones I have. Max fetches and does real dog things. Babie Gurl and Snowy do nothing but lay around and look cute. I would kill to have their lives.

Even though I always had a dog around when I was a little girl....I went 15 + years without. I was traumatized when my mother accidently ran over first poodle "Rocky". I still remember it like it was yesterday. I didn't want to get close to another dog EVER again. I could not endure that pain. But of course I got soft and broke down and got another toy poodle about seven years ago. He was a big pain in the butt. He chewed on everything and pee pee on everything. He would knock over the trash can at least once a day. He would even eat the freakin' coffee beans out of the trash. Then one day he got out and was gone for at least 8 hours. I couldn't find him anywhere. He was so bad that for 1/2 a second I was glad he was gone. Then I started to feel like that day when my Rocky died. Then I went crazy and had the whole neighborhood and cops looking for him. Still...no where to be found. Then after I went through ten boxes of tissues and about to go into convulsions from the pain of losing another dog, he appeared at the front door. After that I didn't care what he chewed !!! only what he pee pee on. So I had him neutered and he never pee pee inside the house again.

I could live without alot of things, but not dogs !!!!! They are my life and my joy.
