Here's my toy poodle Snowy. His fur is as white as snow. Isn't he cute ???? When I take him out, people think he's a baby sheep.

What adorable pictures you all! I just had to share ours. We don't have the usual dog, cat, fish. My kids love their Snowball! Here is a picture of our daughter just after taking her bunny for hop.

LadyJ, I love your cat pic. I too am a little dog fan, especially pomeranians for some reason. But I love all dogs and all types of animals. Years ago I was a volunteer at the SF Zoo and now I foster for the SPCA .----------------

I think it's great that you volunteer!

My cat has an obsession with paper. He does not eat it but will rip it up. He does it for attention I think and to entertain himself. He knows if he goes after my magazines I will tell him no so it's kind of like a little child acting out for attention. We just bought him one of those tall carpet cover cat trees with a cubby hole and a place to sleep on the very top and he stays up there all day looking down on all of us as if he is the king and we are his loyal subjects. lol You should see my fiance with him... He would die if his buddies saw how he talks to him and kisses him.. lol ssshhhhh.....

DiamondLil, what a pretty daughter and adorable bunny! It looks so cute on its leash, hehe. I've always loved bunnies. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the compliments, but don't let that cherub face fool you. Her little horns are hidden under that cap!!

I would like to add my baby to the thread. His name is Kazi (the name of my favorite cocktail: kamikaze)...... except his name is ended with an "i"......

I got him on the site: www.wizardofclaws.com from Florida. He came first class by himself out here to California where I picked him up at LAX.

He is the most adorable papillon!!! I love him so much! I have my own office, so he comes to work with me everyday. Walks around when I do... and sleeps underneath my desk when I'm working. In the future, I plan on getting another Pap..... and plan to name her: Kami.

Oh my gosh, Leota, Paps are my FAVORITE! The kids and I have wanted one for years, but Mr. DiamondLil says no way. What a party pooper! When the day comes that we no longer have our Snowball, the kids will start to work on him.

Breed? That's a new one for me. Cute pics! How big, what family, etc.?

Hes a native Japanese breed...one of the most popular there. they are not that common here in the states..yet..but they are getting more and more attention. they come in 4 colors...red, black and tan, sesame, and cream. the reds do resemble foxes. They are very clean, cat like dogs..only are about 25 pounds when full grown..a little less for females. look at me..i could go on and on about them..sorry! PM me if you have any other questions....

Oh he is so cute!

My friend's mom has one and she's a cutie. She's tan color. I really want to get one but since I live in tiny apartment there's not enough room for a dog, even a small one. Besides, my cat would have a fit! I think if I can ever afford a house in the Bay Area I would definitely get one. I like how you said they act like cats. I love dogs who act like cats.

Kinda a mini Akita? Go on and on. I love to hear about newer breeds. Are they recognized, yet, by the AKC?

Bling, I remember seeing those dogs all over Japan when I used to live there. Aren't they known for being loyal?

There's a public square in a big city near Tokyo called Shibuya. In that square is a statue of a shiba inu. (I THINK it's a shiba, MIGHT be an akita) This dog is a really famous dog of Japanese folklore. The story goes that a soldier had to leave his dog behind to go fight in WWII. The dog would arrive at the same spot everyday and wait all day for his master to come home. Unfortunately, the soldier was killed in battle, but the dog (obviously not knowing that his master had passed away) returned daily and waited all day in the same spot for his master to return. The poor dog waited for his master for the rest of his life. Kinda sad, but touching. Today that spot is a public square where everyone meets each other. Get it? Just like the dog, you're waiting for your friends to arrive.

yes, sorta like a mini akita (but not related)..but not the ones you see in the US..more like the japanses version in Japan..they look very different. They have recently been recognized by the AKC so you can see them on all the major dog shows..Eukaneuba (spelling?), Westminster..
its so nice to finally get to see them on TV. they are so much fun as well..love to play. They dont make good off leash dogs however..cant trust them to romp around outside..they tend to not come back on recall. Love thier families and but can be aloof to strangers. i guess they are one of those breeds where prospective owners should be well educated on them first..which is why i love talking about them. Its sad to see some in shelters because owners didnt know what they were getting when they got the puppies.....again...could go on and on...hehehe... i could answer questions all day long!

My friends have a Shiba Inu...it's got puffy hair!! Fox face. Small...and black and cream I think? I haven't seen it in a while!

DiamondLil..your daughter is ADORABLE!!

yes! i think thats the story of Hachiko..but i believe he was an akita. but i looove that story. i remember seeing the movie when i was younger..so sad. shibas are quite loyal to their family, but can be a little shy to strangers. Thats not saying all of them are...some, but not all..but it really depends on pedigree, upbringing and socialization.
21.gif

mara..the shiba community is pretty small around the bay area..wonder if i know them? hahaha..
appl.gif

they live in San Ramon.

This isn't a good picture but here's my tuxedo kitty named Sooshi.

Here is our newest family member, Snowflag. He is a Maltese puppy and is only 9 weeks old.
He is so cute, I have only had him for a few days, but I am in love!!!

Leota, I was thinking about wizardofclaws.com, but I was scared to buy a pup online and have it shipped to me. I really wanted to pick one out and see it in person. Luckily for me, I found puppypetite.com and they are located about 25 minutes from where I live.

PMR,
Your dog Noel is so adorable. I was really considering a Yorkie, and I did see a couple of teacup Yorkies at the place where I got my pup.

Maybe in the future!

Peaches -> the sweetie
Flea -> only an angel when she is sleeping
Kazi -> the trouble maker
Titus -> oversized lap-dog

Unfortunately, my building does not allow pets. These are my families' and boyfriend's pets. But I am lucky enough to be able to play with them almost everyday. It's like having pets without having to clean up after them!!
