Kayla -> You're puppy is so adorable!!!

And a note about hypo-allergenic dogs: I saw that someone mentioned Bishon Frize (not sure if I spelled it correctly). They are great! My friend is extremely allergic to most dogs, but her Bishon Frize does not even make her sniffle. And he is so lively and playful. Definitely worth checking out that breed of dog.

WALLACE MUNGOJERRIE - (aka Babycakes) - adopted from a local feral rescue group about 8 months ago. We are so very proud of him - you would never know now that he was born on the mean streets and lived there til he was 2 years old! (He is still afraid of brooms and plastic bags...)But, in 8 short months, he spends most of his days lying lying on back, paws in the air, waiting for dinner! We have to make up a b-day for him soon because he is now past 21/2 years old. He's my angel!!!

Wallace inspired me to post a picture of my sweet German Shepherd named Howard. This is his favorite hangout -- on the top of the stairs waiting for us to come home.

This is Cosmo...but, we just call him Mo! He's showing off his famous front tooth!

Wallace is sooo cute. Good for you for taking in an ex feral

Here's my puppy. She's a seven-year-old English Bulldog named Sadie. These are her many moods (although she spends *most* of her time napping and making me laugh!)

sadie.jpg

She's beautiful...we had a boxer with the same coloring for 9 years! He was wonderful, but evil at the same time! Had a penchant for biting men he didn't like in the butt! Something to do with his past, we got him from BoxerRescue! I used to sic him on my husband all the time!
11.gif

We finally had to put him down almost exactly 2 years ago! He was 13 1/2 which is ancient for a boxer! He's been replaced by the puppy , Mo, (above) Who was the toothless-wonder forever! But, he's now proudly grown a few teeth!

His favorite sport of late is grabbing the end of the toilet paper...and running all over the house! His record so far, is about 25 feet of unrolled tangled mess! Mongrel....

Note: He won't be able to reach to bite anyone in the butt!

Hah! Mine did that as a pup. I called it the "glance, grab & go". He always made sure I was looking; but, he was greased lighting. He could darn near empty a roll before I caught him. I would have to rip the roll at the source to prevent overruns.

Ok, I habe 3 babies. 2 black labs and one all white bright blue eyed FAT cat. How can I post them?

Sparklyandsquare - I love the pumpkin costume! Just too cute!

Everyone elses pets are adorable too. Thanks for sharing everyone!

Let me tell you how much she loves wearing her pumpkin costume (not!) I had always said I wouldn't "dress her up" but I was at a friend's yard sale and they talked me into letting her "model" it so someone would buy it. Yeah, right. Call me a sucker...of course a bulldog makes a perfect, round pumpkin so I had to buy it (particularly once they had her chase a stick in the outfit!)

She also loves her reindeer antlers for christmas (seriously this time). I gave her a small piece of steak the first time I put them on her. Now everytime she hears the jingle of the bell attached to the headband she runs up and tries to shove her big fat head into it because she knows she'll get a treat & people will ooh & aah over her. Big ham!

These are my latest foster kittens... aren't they cute!
They are just 5 weeks old. I get to keep them till they are 8 weeks old and ready to go up for adption.

Everyone - your dogs are amazing! I love the stories. I thought cats were infamous for the TP unraveling... it sounds like you have kittydogs. THat's the opposite of what I call Wallace - he's a puppycat - because he fetches, follows us form room to room (very uncat like), takes up the whole bed, and waits at the door for us to come home. He knows the sound of Matt's car coming down the street and get up and run to the door! He's a puppycat!

Innerkitten - Bless you for fostering!!! I could never do it becuase I would KEEP everybody. It was angels like you who saved Wally - thank you and anyone else here who does rescue work!!!

I am changing Wallace's picture becuase he's not a tabby! THe new picture is his favourite position to sit!

Oh my gosh, you might as well be decribing my cat (sumi). She even likes to sleep on her back with her stomach exposed and her legs in the air. I call that the 'cucaracha pose' because she's black. (Hmmmmm....I guess that doesn't make for the best visual, does it?) Actually, sumi is better at playing catch than my mom's pomeranian! The pomeranian will get the ball, but she never gives it back!
3.gif

Have you ever had two cats sleeping on your lap? Both my cats are MAJOR lap cats. I can't sit down without one or two cats getting comfy on me. I'm not complaining, I love it!

Innerkitten, you are amazing for fostering homeless pets. I want to do dog foster one day, when we get our next house with more land and I get a different job. In the meantime, I've almost got my husband worn down to get rescue doggie # 3... I told him if he agrees to the third dog, I'd lay off the jewelry buying (NOT!)

Here my new family addition!! Right now she's 4 months old and 2 pounds 4 oz. She's a Shih Tzu, and will be full grown to 4 pounds!

I won't be getting her until next Wednesday or Thursday, and then from there I'll be taking her to the vet to get everything checked out and make sure that she's okay.

I can't wait!! I have no idea how I'm going to sleep every night till the day arrives!!

Okay, nuff rambling on,
more pics..

Leota,

She's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute. She looks a little like "Gizmo". What are you going to name her besides "cutie pie" ???? Now I want one !!!!

Thanks, Denise!! Yes, she's adorable! Well, my other baby on page 4, his name is Kazi. I came up with the name from my favorite cocktail.... Kamekazi. So, I think I'm going to name her Kami.
3.gif
Would that be over doing it?? haha~
2.gif

Hi Leota,

Kami is a cute name. It's funny when I read that word "Kamekazi" I got dizzy. For years I couldn't hear that word without getting sick. Back in my younger days...I had a bad bad bad BAD episode w/ that drink. I have friends who have named their dogs after drinks..i.e. Jack Daniels, Jim Beam, Captain Morgan etc. etc. tee hee

The dog looks the same...his pal looks a lot older ;-).

I like Kame - and Kazi! Your're dog is so cute I think I'm going to go out and get one this instant!

I had a classmate in college whose real legal name is
Jack Daniels!

Leota, she is adorable! I didn't realize that Shih Tzus were so small. Only 4 pounds when she's full grown? Be sure not to step on her!

When my toy poodle Snowy was a little "wee" one...he was just a little ball of white fur. Sooooooooooo many times we came close to squishing the poor little thang. I myself broke a few things from trying to break my fall

I truly love dogs. I don't know that I've ever encountered one I didn't like. Leota's new baby (who may be Kami) is adorable, but so many of the other dogs "grabbed" me, too. Howard, the German Shephard, waiting for his family is wonderful. (He looks like a Great Dane in the picture, though!)

This discussion of small dogs has me wondering: what do cat owners do to avoid squashing THEIR pets? Or are cats more adept at escaping falling humans than small dogs are?

Biscuit isn't as big as a Bull Mastiff or a Great Dane, but he's larger than the breed standard for labs and weighs over 100 lbs (somewhere between 102 and 110). We don't have to worry about breaking him :-).

The notion of falling on one's dog-something that happens regularly in this house when Biscuit attempts to race me down the stairs for his breakfast every morning-reminded me of this. (I hope I haven't published this here before!!!)

Letter to the Dog and Cat

Dear Dog and Cat,
When I say to move, it means go someplace else, not switch positions with
each other so there are still two of you in the way.
The dishes with the paw print are yours and contain your food. The other
dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the
middle of my plate and food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and
dish, nor
do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.
The stairway was not designed by NASCAR and is not a racetrack. Beating me
to the bottom is not the objective. Tripping me doesn't help, because I fall
faster than you can run.
I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very sorry about
this. Do not think I will sleep on the couch to ensure your comfort. Look at
videos of dogs and cats sleeping, they can actually curl up in a ball. It is not
necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other stretched out to the fullest
extent possible. I also know that sticking tails straight out
and having tongues hanging out the other end to maximize space used is nothing
but sarcasm.
My compact discs are not miniature Frisbees.
For the last time, there is not a secret exit from the bathroom. If by
some miracle I beat you there and manage to get the
door shut, it is not necessary to claw, whine, try to turn the knob, or get
you paw under the edge and try to pull the door open. I must exit through the
same door I entered. In addition, I have been using bathrooms for years, canine
attendance is not mandatory.
To pacify you I have posted the following message on our front door...

Rules for Non-Pet Owners Who Visit and Like to Complain About Our Pets:

1. They live here. You don't.

2. If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture.

3. I like my pet a lot better than I like most people.

4. To you, it's an animal. To me, they'e adopted children who are short,
hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

5. Dogs and cats are better than kids. They eat less, don't ask for money all
the time, are easier to train, usually come when called, never drive your car,
don't hang out with drug-using friends, don't smoke or drink, don't worry about
buying the latest fashions, don't wear your clothes, don't need a gazillion
dollars for college, and if they get pregnant you can sell the results.

Leota...is that a mini or toy Shih Tzu?

Our Shih Tzu, Mo,is waaayyy bigger!! There's a picture of him a few posts back. He's still pretty little really, probably about 9lbs at 8 months old! They told us the largest the male will get is about 12lbs! Guarantee you, Mo will be at the max! He's completely and utterly obsessed with food! He perches on the back of the couch, with his head and pa on your shoulder, mournfully looking down at our "snacks"!! He's shameless...

Here's a pic when he was only 2lbs...at about 7 weeks old!
