When you get quotes from different vendors...

and then choose one, do you notify the others? Perhaps it's a silly question but I have noticed some people talking about getting feedback from 3-4 people and then choosing one to work with. When this happens do you tell the other vendors you've decided to go with someone else?

A heads up is typically appreciated. It’s a small courtesy that costs you nothing but that definitively frees those vendors from any notes or plans they might have had to follow up on with you.

After a quote I just say “thanks I’ll be in touch if I decide to proceed.” And then I either contact them to proceed or never contact them again. I do this for anything I get quotes for.
