It is for sentimental purposes in my ering. My birthstone is sapphire which is my center stone and I wanted a little stone of his birthstone included. It''s more for sentiment than for beauty. An alternative which I first thought of was to use a little seed pearl but I read that if you ultrasonic them or get them wet too often they will break down. I work with patients and I was inbetween each.Date: 4/23/2010 11:34:57 AM

SCG,
Can I ask why are you choosing an Alex for the inside of your ring? Without any light source, it’ll never change colour and due to the way it is set, it’ll probably end up looking a very weird darkish colour that is usually unattractive.
I think that''s a lovely idea and in all honesty Alexandrite is a more "manly" gemstone than a seed pearl so I reckon it''s a great idea. Also, as you''ve already found out, Alex is a hardy little stone so won''t mind your ultrasonic occasionally.Date: 4/23/2010 3:26:20 PM
